ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEW: AP EXAM PROCTORS NEEDED We need 4-6 proctors that will read a script, check students in, pass out booklets, and make sure that the students are on task while taking the test. The pay is $25/hour. AP testing will be May 1-May 12. You DO NOT need to commit to every date. You can choose what works best for you. You will need to get your fingerprints cleared through the district office and submit a TB clearance. That's it! Contact Mary Kenny if you or anyone you know might want to help!


NEW: FINALS FUEL IS COMING Wednesday 5/24, Thursday 5/25, and Friday 5/26.

This is a wonderful Campo tradition during finals week when Campo parents fund and distribute 8,000+ healthy snacks to hungry and grateful students between their final exams. We are a 100% parent-supported activity and we need your help! Click here to learn how to donate cash, buy snacks, and distribute them to students on campus!


TOMORROW: CAMPO PARENTS BOOKCLUB Even if you haven't finished the book, you can still join us for our discussion! Our next CPC Bookclub meeting is on Tuesday, March 28 at 7pm in the Campo Library. The book we will be discussing is: How to Navigate Life: The New Science of Finding Your Way in School, Career, and Beyond By Belle Liang and Timothy Klein. Click here for more info.


THIS WEEK: PARENT ED EVENT Please join Addiction Specialist Dr. Allyson Mayo and CHS Wellness Coordinator Jenna Wrobel for a presentation detailing what parents and guardians need to know about fentanyl, Narcan, and other important drug updates. Wednesday, March 29 at 6:30pm in the Campolindo Library.


NEW: THANK YOU TO THE STUDENT VOLUNTEERS The Moraga Junior Women’s Club would like to express their sincere appreciation to all the volunteers from Campo. They arrived on time and did a phenomenal job. Without their tremendous help, they could not have had a successful event. There were hundreds of young children at the event and the students showed their love and patience and brought so much joy to these kids and families. We are very proud to have these students in our community. If any volunteers have questions about confirming their volunteer hours, please contact Nicole Caldwell.


UPDATE: SENIOR BALL The Senior Ball Theme was announced last week during lunch. Get ready for A Night In the Spotlight at the Hibernia in San Francisco, May 6! We have a great website here (2023 Campo Senior Ball) where all your questions can be answered as well as the link to purchase tickets and download permission forms.


SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE School supplies for kids 5th grade & under are being collected for Booksforthebarrios.org. School supplies can include new or gently used books for kids, board games, or crayons. This effort is driven by two 9th graders and supplies can be dropped at 26 Woodside Dr, Moraga by 4/16. Any questions, contact Shiraz Zahoori.


CAMPO SERVICE AWARDS--KEEP TRACK OF YOUR HOURS Students who volunteer in the community may be eligible for a Service Award. Completed hours and applications deadline is April 21. There is a new online only application process this year and we are returning to the 30 hour minimum. For details, guidelines, and application information, please visit the Volunteer Service Award page on the Campo website or visit CPC Volunteer Service Award on the CPC website.

NEW: NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT SPRING RECOGNITION CEREMONY If your senior, student athlete will be signing a NLI--National Letter of Intent--and would like to be recognized in our Spring NLI Recognition Ceremony, please email AD Ray Meadows with your senior's name, school they will be attending and sport to be added to the list of senior's to be recognized. 


GIRLS' FLAG FOOTBALL '23/'24 PLAYER INTEREST SURVEY AND COACHES NEEDED CIF recently approved Girls Flag Football as an official CIF sport. Campolindo is looking to add a team if there is enough interest to do so. If your student is interested in playing, please complete the following form: Campo Girls Flag Football - Player Interest Form. In addition, Campolindo is looking for individuals that may be interested in coaching the team next year. If you would like to apply, please contact AD Ray Meadows. As the details are still being worked out across various leagues and NCS, the season is most likely going to occur in the fall.

NEW: CAREER TALK--CONSTRUCTION TRADES If you wonder if working in the construction trades is the job for you, or if you are interested in Construction Management, come learn from the best and network! NEW: SUMMER PROGRAMS THROUGH SUMMER EXPERIENCES JSA summer programs are immersive learning experiences that engage students with college-level curriculum, collaborative projects, and activism opportunities to give them a unique perspective on the important issues facing America today. Four different summer programs are available, both virtually and in-person here.


NEW: COLLEGE & CAREER 101 HAS NEW FEATURES We’ve added and enhanced several features on this website. There are two new sections to help students understand what it takes to get into the competitive majors of Computer Science and Engineering, as well as less-competitive schools to apply to for these majors. These are a complement to the existing sections on other majors: Business, Nursing, English, Art/Design, Music, Film, and Visual/Performing Arts. The Extracurricular Activities and Summer Programs pages have been updated with new opportunities, contests and awards. Three recently added features are Building a Resume, How to Build a College List, College Analysis Spreadsheet, and Financial Award Letters.

UC DAVIS TOUR The College & Career Center is sponsoring a free bus ride and tour of UC Davis on Monday, April 17. CAREER WEBINARS To celebrate the UK's National Careers Week, INVESTIN is running a series of free webinars this month for teens. Students will have the opportunity to learn from professionals from the worlds of Medicine, Finance and Law, and ask them questions in a live online, interactive environment. The sessions will take place at 18:00 UK time, but recordings will be sent to all students that register, so interested students should book their places even if they are unable to attend. Click the links below to register.

UPDATE: GRAD NIGHT & OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS Grad Night is an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime event designed to provide a safe and memorable celebration for our Campo grads and the last chance to celebrate as a class! This exciting, long-standing senior tradition takes place following the graduation ceremony on Friday, May 26. Tickets now available here! Please check the Parents Club Class of 2023 Website for news about Grad Night tickets (currently available for purchase), Graduation leis, and our Senior Parent Handbook. Also be sure to follow our social medias (Facebook and Instagram) to hear the latest updates. Still to be announced is the rescheduling of the Senior parent meeting that was canceled due to the insane weather and iffy power at previously scheduled time last week. We are currently looking at a date immediately after spring break so you can start working on the traditional memory boards.

NEW: JUNIORS--BUILD YOUR COLLEGE LIST NOW! Make an appointment with an advisor in the College & Career Center before school ends.  We know the nuances of the current admissions landscape and can help you build a strong list. Make an appointment here.


JUNIOR PROM PARENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Prom requires a huge amount of parent support. We need help for set up, candy donations, chaperones (we promise you can hide from your kids), clean up, etc. Can't come? Donate to the cause and sign up here. Thank you!


JUNIOR PROM INFO Juniors, you were born to shine! Please join us for "A Night Under the Stars" and celebrate our junior prom with dinner, dancing, and delicious desserts! Prom will be held on Saturday, April 22, 6:30-11:00pm at Sequoyah Country Club in Oakland. Tickets for Campo students are $135. Tickets for non-Campo students are $150. All students must fill out a permission slip and turn it into the attendance office by April 14. Guests from other schools must also fill out a permission slip and an additional form and turn it into the office by April 10. Tickets will increase in price to $150 after April 7. Webstore tickets purchase will officially close on April 15.


MARCH TO DO LIST FOR JUNIORS Prepare for college apps in the fall.

  1. ACADEMIES Continue to attend any College & Career Center Academies designed to help Juniors with the college application process.
  2. COLLEGE LIST Under the “College Planning” section of College & Career 101, we now have new sections for How to build a college list and College Spreadsheet. These walk students through the process of analyzing their college options. Make an appointment here if help is needed.
  3. SUMMER PLANS Consider enrolling in an online summer college course to help you explore an area of interest or further your academics. Consider Lake Tahoe Community College, Napa Community College, or others. Also look at pre-college programs under Summer Programs. Pre-college programs are offered at many universities and are designed specifically for high school students. Or find other meaningful experiences for the summer, such as a job, community service or internship.
  4. AP EXAMS Register for the May AP exams for any AP courses you took this year.
  5. TESTING Register for or take the SAT or ACT on the date you registered.
  6. COST OF COLLEGE Understand college costs and college financing. Use the College Cost Calculator. Save the date: April 18, 6:30pm, webinar on “Understanding Financial Aid”.
  7. COLLEGE & CAREER 101 Use College & Career 101.
