NEW: SENIOR COLLEGE TO DO LIST
-
UPDATE NAVIANCE Update Naviance with your decisions (attending, accepted, denied, waitlisted, withdrawn) for EVERY college you applied to including community colleges. The College & Career Center uses this important information to help us understand what student profile the colleges are looking for so that we can better advise our students. Instructions found here.
-
NOTIFY COLLEGES If you know for certain where you’ll be attending, decline all your other admission offers. Do this promptly so that your spot can be given to someone on the waitlist. Closely follow the instructions from the school you’ll be attending to secure your spot.
-
NO SENIORITIS Try to maintain your GPA in the range in which you were accepted. Your acceptance could be rescinded if there is a significant decline. You worked too hard to get here, don’t let it be taken away!
NEW: GAP YEAR It is important to note that a gap year indicates a student is taking time away from classes. If a student chooses to take college courses during this time, most colleges will consider that student a “transfer student” when applying. Be sure you understand the ramifications.
DVC APPLICATION FOLLOW-UP Applying to DVC so that Seniors get priority registration for fall classes is a bit tricky. Here are the instructions that must be followed carefully. If you have any questions or want to be walked through the process, make an appointment with Mrs. Batcheller. If you need help applying to another community college, we’re happy to help.
SENIOR CELEBRATION NEEDS SNACKS On Friday, April 29th we’re continuing our annual tradition of celebrating our Seniors for all the hard work they put towards their post-graduation plans. We would really appreciate it if parents could donate some snacks for these hungry teens. Sign up here.
