ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEW: TODAY IS PICTURE DAY Studio One Photography will be at Campo today. All 9th graders will take photos during PE classes. New/transfer and students who missed picture day in April last school year will be called out of their classes for their picture.


NEW: BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT We are excited to welcome you to our campus for Back to School Night on August 31. The general welcome kicks off at 6pm in the Big Gym and the class visits start at 6:30pm. There will be a New Families meeting hosted in the MUR at 5:30pm to welcome new families and introduce them to select staff and administration. There will also be class meetings immediately following the class visits.


NEW: SENIOR PANORAMA PHOTO Seniors will have a panorama photo taken during Academy on November 15 in the Big Gym wearing their Senior t-shirts.


NEW: PARENTS CLUB SOCIAL MEDIA Follow the Campolindo Parents Club on social media to keep up to date on what is happening at Campolindo, to see incredible accomplishments of the students and reminders of important dates. FORE OUR SCHOOLS GOLF TOURNAMENT The 15th Annual Fore Our Schools Golf Tournament will be held on September 18 at Moraga Country Club. All proceeds are donated to the Moraga Education Foundation (MEF). All levels of golfers are welcome. Register here. Also, sponsorship and day of volunteer spots are still available. NEW: CAMPO NIGHT LIVE Auditions this week. They will be led by the 4 directors Logan Raymond, Lauren Beld, Marrisa Mahler and KT Thompson. The audition sheet needs to be filled out for auditions on the 21st and 22nd after school in the Drama Room. We will have extras but it shouldn't be relied upon. It has all the important details and dates on it. You don't have to be in drama to be a part of Campo Night Live. We hope to see you at auditions next week!


NEW: FALL ATHLETIC PE 10th & 11th Graders interested in participating in the Fall Athletic PE Program must complete the Contract/Application prior to the Fall Deadline, 8/25, and turn it in at the Counseling Office. Completed Time Cards are due on a Weekly basis throughout the Season. Questions? The Sunrise Movement is a national youth-led movement fighting for climate justice and a greener future, and the Bay Area hub is looking for new members to join its High School Team! NEW: CAMPOLINDO LIBRARY ANNOUNCEMENTS CELEBRATE Back to School and Health and Wellness! Peruse and check out fiction and non-fiction titles that dive into the theme of getting back into the swing of school as well as focus on mental and physical health and wellness. Titles are also available for adults with teens! RECOGNIZE National Vaccine Awareness Month and World Honey Bee Day (August 19). These books are mostly non-fiction and include information about the creation of vaccines as well as some informative books about bees and other insects! Every month we will have new celebrations and recognitions with books on display to pique your interest, so be sure to check back each month!

NEW: MEET MS. HERRING, OUR NEW LIBRARIAN My name is Liz Herring and I am positively elated to be the new Teacher Librarian at Campo! I come to Campo following 11 years of teaching, mostly English, in the Bay Area. Prior to moving to the Bay, I grew up in Orange County, attended Cal State Fullerton for undergrad and the teaching credential program, and worked at Disneyland (still a Disney Adult) for 7 years to put myself through college and the program. Click here to read more.

ATHLETICS NEWS

NEW: CAMPOLINDO FOOTBALL TICKETS Football tickets for all HOME games must be purchased in advance on GoFan.co. Students with ASB and/ or Campo Boosters Card holders will be admitted without a ticket. There will NOT be cash ticket sales at the game.


NEW: CAMPO ATHLETIC BOOSTERS MEMBERSHIP GEAR PICK UP For Campo Athletic Boosters members, we have put your Membership Cards and decals in the mail. For those who were unable to pick up your (Family, Silver, Gold or Platinum) membership gear during Cougar Day, the gear will be available for pickup today, Monday, August 21 between 3:00-4:30pm and again on Tuesday, August 29 between 3:30-5:00pm (outside Campo's MUR (Multi Use Room). If you are unable to pick your gear up on either of these dates, please contact president@campoathleticboosters.com for alternate arrangements. Otherwise, the gear will be donated to Campo athletics. As always, thanks for your support of Campo Athletics!

COMING SOON, FEMALE STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING PROGRAM Based on the success of our Female Strength and Conditioning Pilot last Spring, the Campo Athletic Boosters will be sponsoring the Female Strength and Conditioning Program for the 2023-24 School Year. We're looking to host these sessions Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30pm in Campo's Weight Room. More details--including when the Program will start--will be coming shortly.

NEW: SENIORS - CHECK EMAILS FROM COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER We’ll be sending out regular emails to help guide you through the college application process and inform you of important events. It’s best if you configure your auhsd email and set notifications on your phone so that you won’t miss them!


NEW: COLLEGE ESSAY HELP WITH MR. PETROCCO Once again, the fabulous Mr. Petrocco has offered to help Seniors with their college essays during lunchtime in the College & Career Center, E13. Thursdays, September-October. Seniors cannot register for more than 2 sessions per month to give other students the opportunity. Register here.


NEW: STANFORD ADMISSION REP VISIT For the first time in many years, an Admission Rep from Stanford will be on our campus to give two 30-minute talks to students about their school and admissions process. Interested students should attend only one of these talks since they are the same.

NEW: STORIES FROM OUR ROOTS FILM EVENT Miramonte students will showcase three of their award-winning films featuring the Asian-owned businesses Kibi’s Cafe, Hodo Foods, and Joan’s Chinese painting studio! There will be a panel discussion with youth filmmakers and business owners who can provide insight into their journeys and experiences in order to promote intergenerational and intercultural dialogue. These students run a collective called Stories From Our Roots that strives to promote Lamorinda Asian-owned businesses and their stories through filmmaking and community organization. Thursday, September 7, 7:30pm Orinda Theater. 2023-2024 MEF GRANT Thanks to support from donors like you, MEF granted $950,000 to Campolindo this school year, creating possibilities for every student, every day. Read more about the impact of this grant at Campo.  


MAKE YOUR ANNUAL DONATION TODAY! MEF relies on your support to fully fund its grants to Campolindo. The recommended annual donation is $1,500 per student, but every donation makes a difference, so please donate at the level that is right for you. Donations made through the Campo Webstore are automatically designated to Campo. Or, you can donate through the MEF website, set up a payment plan (choose the monthly gift option), or donate by mail. And remember to check and see if your company will match your gift! All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

JUNIOR CLASS NEWS

NEW: JUNIOR SNACK SHACK FUNDRAISER The Juniors will be hosting the snack shack on October 6. Keep an eye out for the sign up!


BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW! Class of 2025 Parent Party will be on September 23, from 6:30-9:30pm at the Polichio’s house in Moraga. We will have live entertainment from Joyous Ashes, a Campolindo live music club band, Class of 2025 Lamorinda Idols, and a small group of Campo Choir members. Beverages, bites, and baked goods will be provided. All proceeds will go towards Junior Prom and Senior Ball. The cost is $65 per person. Sign up now!

FRESHMAN CLASS SNACK SHACK FUNDRAISER GOOO COUGARS - football is back at Campo! Please help contribute to our Class of 2027 Fundraiser. We are in charge of running the snack shack for the football game on Friday, September 1. All net proceeds will be used to help lower the costs of our senior-year activities. We need help working the snack shack and grill that night. Most importantly, we need your financial donations--you donate and we shop! NEW: TROOP 402G IS ACCEPTING BSA SCOUTS AGED 11-17 Do you want to build a community of new friends, learn lifelong skills, and be outdoors? Troop 402G is for you! 

We are an inclusive independently-registered female BSA Scouts of America scout troop that are accepting scouts that use the pronouns she/her and/or they/them. We meet on Wednesday nights from 7:30-8:45pm in Lafayette. We are a supportive, fun and adventurous troop where our scouts develop leadership skills and meet kids outside their normal social circles. If having fun with friends, learning to be a leader, and being outdoors is what you're looking for, contact us. We would love to have you stop by for a meeting and learn more!
