THIS WEEK: PARENT ED ON STUDENT SAFETY, SEPTEMBER 1, 6:30-8:30PM The first event of the season will be on Student Safety and we will be hosting refreshments as we warmly welcome you back to Campolindo. Event will be held in the CPAC. Details in Parent Ed section below. Register here.


NEW: PICKLE BALL SOCIAL FOR PARENTS This is a Class of 2024 fundraiser, but all parents are welcome! Come socialize and have fun while learning about the great game of Pickle Ball! Instructor will be provided and all levels of experience are welcome! Saturday, October 1, 5:00-6:30pm at MCC. Tickets are $50 on the Campo Webstore and include food/drinks. If you would like to to sponsor this event and donate any amount, we will list your business or name on various posters located on the courts. Any questions, contact Jill Hudson.


A NOTE FROM MR. ALVAREZ Campo Community, as we come back together for the start of the year, there is also an increase in traffic in and around campus. Keeping our students safe before, during, and after the school day is of the utmost importance. As you drop off/pick up your student, we ask that you please be aware, patient, and kind to one another to help maintain a climate and culture that is respectful and safe.


STUDENT IDS Students are required to use their Student ID cards for breakfast, brunch, and lunch in the lines. Please remind your students to have their ID cards ready to use for the cafeteria lines. If your student does not have their ID card, they can get a temporary ID print out from Mrs. S until photo makeup on August 30th.


LEADERSHIP UPDATES Events happening on campus--remind your students!

  • PEER TUTORS Qualifications: mastery of subject matter, strong communicatin skills, responsibility and relatability, kindness and compassion. Commitment is two Academies per month, applications due August 31. Any questions, contact Ms. Tarantino or Mrs. Verbansky.
  • CLUBS! Want to start a new club? Come to Academy August 31st in E9.
  • GARDEN Come work in the Garden during Friday Academies. Contact Mr. Seligman for more info.


CLASS PHOTO MAKE UPS For those students who have not yet had their photo taken for school IDs, picture make up day will be August 30th. Senior Portraits make up day will be on October 11.


CAMPO SPIRIT WEAR STORE IS OPEN! See something you liked but didn’t order it yet? Have no fear, the Campo Spiritwear Store has reopened for a limited time! We are accepting orders through August 31st, with delivery the week of September 24th. This will be your last chance for spiritwear until next Spring, so order now. Thanks for supporting Campolindo!

FACULTY/STAFF SPOTLIGHT

NEW: GET TO KNOW ASSOCIATE PRINCIPAL MR. RUBEY Hello Campo Community. This year marks my 26th year as an educator. I started working with youth as a competitive rowing coach in Seattle, WA. Our team would travel to events in San Diego and Boston, and regularly competed at the National Championships. Over the ensuing years, I taught at Truckee High School, Berkeley High School Independent Study Program, Redwood High School in Larkspur, Saint Mary's College High School in Berkeley; and last but not least, I taught Chemistry the 2nd semester of 2022 here at Campo. CROSS COUNTRY The Campo cross country team is still accepting new members through the end of this week! Come check out this amazing opportunity! It's a great way to meet new people, get super fit, and enjoy being a part of the Campo sport culture. It's also the most successful athletic program in the history of the school. SPRING SOFTBALL Interested in trying out for softball in the spring? Come to our preseason conditionings! We will be at the field every Wednesday at 3:45 for agility and conditioning to prepare for our upcoming season! No equipment is required! Come in athletic attire and bring a water bottle! Go Cougs!


CAMPO FOOTBALL TICKETS Tickets for Home football games can be purchased in advance using GoFan. Cash sales for regular season home games will still be available at the ticket booth. Free admission for Home football games for Campo Booster Card holders and ASB stickers for students. General Admission $10, Student/Senior $5.


CAMPO SPORTS REGISTRATION All athletes need to be cleared through the Campo Athletics registration process prior to the official start date for your sport. Register for Campo Sports online. Campo Sports Registration

CAREER TALK--DATA SCIENTIST Join us for pizza with Mr. Zo Obradovic who works for the Philadelphia Phillies. He works with the players, coaches, scouts, and the front office to help them make better decisions using data. He has degrees in Computer Science from Purdue and the University of Chicago. SINGLE PARENT HOUSEHOLD STUDENT HELP DURING LUNCH Students who come from single-parent households may need extra assistance to navigate the college application process. All grades welcome! September 7, 21 and October 5, E13 (College & Career Center). Register here.


FIRST-TO-GO LUNCHES First-generation students come from families where neither parent has a four-year degree or higher from a college or university. The College & Career Center strives to support and serve anyone who identifies as first-generation. PARENT ED OPPORTUNITY Belonging-The Science of Creating Connection and Bridging Divides, by Geoffrey L. Cohen. Campo DEIB is hosting a parent ed event on Cohen's new book Belonging. The book release is September 13. In the meantime, learn more about Professor Cohen's groundbreaking research here.

SOPHOMORE CLASS NEWS

NEW: SOPHOMORE CLASS SNACK SHACK Thank you so much, sophomore parents, for your donations and your hard work in the snack shack on Friday night. Our class was able to raise $4,000 for the sophomore class. Special thanks to Anne Robles for her help getting the snack shack ready.
