NEW: CSF APPLICATIONS The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) application will be completed online this semester and the submission window will run from September 1-September 23. CSF is a statewide organization that honors outstanding high school students for their academic achievements based upon each semester's grades. Complete information about CSF, including the online application form that must be completed to qualify for membership, can be found here. Questions? Contact Duane Magno in the Counseling Office.
NEW: COUGAR TALK, CAMPO 101 September 15, 9-10am. Come meet Principal Alvarez and other key admin in the library in a casual setting and learn about important topics around Campo followed by Q and A.
NEW: ARSHAY COOPER EVENT Join us September 19, 6:30-7:30pm at the Acalanes Performing Arts Center for this can’t miss event: an interactive chat with Arshay Cooper. His book, “A Most Beautiful Thing,” is a true story of a group of young men growing up on Chicago's West side who transform their lives when they form the first all-black high-school rowing team in the nation. The film adaptation of the book is star-studded and streaming now on Peacock and Amazon Prime. It is narrated by rapper Common, and executive produced by Common and NBA stars Grant Hill and Dwayne Wade, along with Grammy-winning producer 9th Wonder.

NEW: GIRLS LACROSSE Interested in trying out for Girls Lacrosse in the spring? Come out to play Fall Ball! Fall Ball is intended to sharpen skills, work on fundamentals and invite new players to come learn the game. Practice starts on the turf on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00-8:30pm for 6 weeks starting Tuesday, September 20 and going through Thursday, October 27. You will need a stick, cleats (soccer cleats work) and eye goggles. We are asking for a $40/player donation for Fall Ball. Register here.

NEW: HBCU (HISTORICALLY BLACK COLLEGES & UNIVERSITIES) RECRUITMENT FAIR September 13, 9:00am-12:00pm, Deer Valley High School Gymnasium, Antioch. This is an amazing recruitment opportunity. Students can apply on the spot and a lot of scholarships are awarded. If enough students sign up, the District will provide a bus. The fair is for seniors only. Students need to come prepared (with a copy of their unofficial transcript, a resume or essay, any SAT or ACT scores not already showing on their transcript). Register here.

NEW: SEPTEMBER IS SUICIDE AWARENESS MONTH Suicide is one of the leading causes of preventable death in our nation today. Education is key to prevention! Being aware of the signs associated with suicide, suicide facts and statistics, and how to get support for at-risk youth can help save lives. Never be reluctant to get involved and always take your child's desire or intent to harm themselves seriously. Visit the NAMI website here to learn about warning signs, risk factors, and how to handle a crisis. You can also check out this easy to read flyer. NEW: LUNCHTIME TABLING FOR STUDENTS. All week, Wellness will be tabling in the quad at lunch to promote suicide awareness and prevention. Let your students know to stop by to get resources, play trivia and win prizes, hang out with therapy dogs, and engage in mental health art activities.
NEW: DONATIONS NEEDED! The Campo Wellness Center is looking for a few outdoor items for our new space. If you’re thinking about buying new outdoor furniture for next year, the Wellness Center could really use some umbrellas for shade and planter boxes for flowers. NEW: DRIVERS NEEDED FOR CAMPO'S DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STUDENT CLUB On Friday mornings in September, members of Campo's diversity and inclusion student club, the Cultivate Thinking Club, will provide age-appropriate DEIB classroom lessons and activities to 5th graders at each of Moraga's local Elementary schools. We are in need of drivers to transport student club members to-and-from the elementary schools between 10-11am. If you are available to drive on one (or several) of these Fridays, please sign up here.
