HOLIDAYS & OBSERVATIONS At Campolindo, we celebrate diversity and inclusion everyday, but our calendars also include noted observations. Each month we will feature various holidays that are celebrated around the world. This is by no means a comprehensive list. The traditions and customs reflected in these holidays highlight the diversity of our America. Click around and learn something new!
  • September 6 to 8 is Rosh Hashana, or Jewish New Year. The Jewish New Year is a time to begin introspection, looking back at the mistakes of the past year and planning the changes to make in the new year.
  • September 15 to 16, is Yom Kippur, or the “Day of Atonement,” the holiest day of the year on the Jewish calendar. Its central themes are atonement and repentance.
  • September 15 is International Day of Democracy, a day to celebrate and learn about democratic societies.
  • September 15 through October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month which celebrates the histories, cultures, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
