NEW: VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: FORE OUR SCHOOLS GOLF TOURNAMENT

The 16th Annual Fore Our Schools Golf Tournament will be held on September 16 at Moraga Country Club. All proceeds are donated to the Moraga Education Foundation (MEF). This event has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Moraga Public Schools. The tournament is now sold out, but we are still looking for volunteers (Fore Our Schools: Fore Our Schools 2024). Also, sponsorships are still available. If you are interested, please email HERE. NEW: CAMPOLINDO KEY CLUB

Have extra unused school supplies? Donate them to a good cause! High school service clubs across the county are organizing a school supplies drive to support the education of children living in countries that are in the midst of war. You can participate by donating school supplies such as pencils, pens, erasers, rulers, notebooks, lunch boxes, water bottles, scissors, pencil sharpeners, pencil cases, school bags, calculators, etc. The collection period will run from September 14th to September 27th. You can drop off your supplies in the labeled box outside of the Campo attendance office.  


NEW: SAT/PSAT 

Campo will host the October PSAT/NMSQT for sophomores and juniors on October 30th. Registration is open on the webstore. The deadline to sign up is September 15th.

Campo will also be hosting the SAT School Day on October 23rd (Seniors Only) and March 5 (Juniors Only) of the 24/25 school year. Registration (Oct 23rd SAT) is open on the webstore. The deadline to sign up is September 15th.


NEW: LATINX POTLUCK + FAB TAILGATE

Latinas Unidos Clubs at Campolindo and Acalanes, along with the Acalanes ASB Equity Board, are collaborating for a fun and delicious LatinX Potluck + FAB Tailgate to honor and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month on Thursday, September 19 from 5-6:15pm at Acalanes Highschool before the CHS/AHS Girls Varsity Volleyball game. NEW: SEPTEMBER IS SUICIDE AWARENESS MONTH 

Suicide is one of the leading causes of preventable death in our nation today. Education is key to prevention! Being aware of the signs associated with suicide, suicide facts and statistics, and how to get support for at-risk youth can help save lives. Never be reluctant to get involved and always take your child's desire or intent to harm themselves seriously. The AUHSD Governing Board has a regularly scheduled meeting this Wednesday, Sept. 11th at the District office. Meetings are open to the public and available to view live online HERE. The meeting agenda is posted the Sunday prior HERE. Look for an important presentation on career tech education and enrollment updates as well as school reports from our student board reps.

STUDENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Weekly Volunteers Needed: ACEing Autism is an organization dedicated to helping children with autism to grow, develop, and benefit from social connections and fitness through affordable tennis programming. Earn volunteer hours by helping teach tennis to children on the autism spectrum. Clinics are held on the tennis courts at St. Mary's College in Moraga. Come volunteer at the Camino Pablo Fall Carnival on Friday September 20th. We would love your help with leading the games for the CP students. Sign up for one or multiple shifts. We appreciate your help! You can sign up HERE.


The Sojourn Project: This year, Campolindo is offering a trip called the Sojourn Project. This academic trip takes high school students across the south to learn all about the Civil Rights Movement of the 60s. Students meet people who were part of the movement while visiting historical sites and museums. The trip is empowering, informative, and it has been a life changing experience for many participants. Students and parents can visit the Sojourn Project website to learn more about the trip and by emailing Ella Kalpakjian. The student informational session that was canceled Sept. 6th will be rescheduled. Stay tuned. The parents informational session is on Sept. 12th. Email Ella Kalpakjian for time and location.


White Pony Express is a nonprofit food recovery organization serving Contra Costa County. Our mission is to eliminate hunger and poverty by delivering the abundance all around us to those in need - with love. Everyday, WPE rescues surplus food from businesses, restaurants, gardens, and grocery stores and delivers it to 98 nonprofit agencies serving our most vulnerable neighbors. CALLING ALL PARENTS WITH A FLAIR FOR MIXOLOGY

It’s your time to shine at the Lamorinda Arts Council’s Art of Mixology Craft Cocktail + Mocktail Competition and Fundraising Event on Saturday, October 19, from 4:30 to 7 pm! Show off your bartending skills in our Novice Category and support local youth arts programming like Lamorinda Idol, the High School Visual Arts Competition, Arts Ambassadors, and more. This exciting afternoon features delicious drinks, local bites, music, dancing, friendly competition, and fun—all while supporting the arts in Lamorinda. CSF APPLICATIONS 

The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) application will be completed online this semester and the fall submission window will run from Sept. 3rd through Sept. 27th.  CSF is a statewide organization that honors outstanding high school students for their academic achievements based upon each semester's grades. Complete information about CSF, including the online application form that must be completed to qualify for membership, can be found HERE. Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem solving opportunities for students. Visit the Moraga Odyssey of the Mind website, the official Odyssey of the Mind website, or the regional website for more information. To learn more about the program, gather prospective teammates and parent coaches, attend an informational meeting at the Holy Trinity Cultural Center at 1700 School Street, Moraga, on Tuesday, Sept. 24th from 7 pm - 8 pm. If you are unable to attend the meeting, would like more information, or have any questions, feel free to contact at moragaootm@gmail.com.


CAMPO SWAP ITEMS NEEDED Parents, do you have old Campo gear laying around that you could repurpose? Our Sustainability Team sells "vintage" Campo gear for cheap in order to support our Sustainability Projects. All money will go to our new goat shed that we are trying to build. We take t-shirts, sweatshirts, jerseys, blankets, hats -- whatever you have! Contact the Commissioner of Sustainability for any donations.


STUDENT CLUB DAY Club day is September 11th at lunch where students can check out current clubs to join. If your student wants to make a new club, next week they can come to Academy on Wednesday in E9 to get all the paperwork or come to a lunch meeting on Thursday in E9. 


CAMPO PARENT SOCIAL: The Campolindo DEIB Committee invites you to a Parent Social on Thursday, September 12 at Canyon Club from 5-7pm. Drop by, grab a drink and some snacks/dinner. We'll have some tables saved outside. Catch up with friends and get to know new parents. 


HELP THE CAMPO GARDEN - We need your beautiful backyard garden! The Campo Environmental Club is fundraising for a new barn for the 5 angora goats that live on campus. We'd like to host a Walamorinda Garden tour and need help from your veggie or flower gardens. We are searching for 5-7 families willing to host drop-in guests over the course of 4 hours on a Fall weekend. We could also use a volunteer to help with publicity. Please contact Campo Garden coordinator Mr. Justin Seligman. Winter is coming! We'd love to get this off the ground before the seasons turn.

CAMPO SPORTS PHYSICALS/ATHLETIC CLEARANCES If your student will be playing a WINTER or SPRING Campo sport and has not yet completed the required Athletic Clearance (either with their family physician or at the last on-campus event in July), Campo Athletic Boosters is hosting another Sports Physicals/Athletic Clearance event at Campo on October 21st, starting at 6:15pm.

Upstanding Athlete Award: Campo Leadership is accepting nominations for student- athletes in the Campo community to be recognized for acts of leadership, service and courage. The Upstanding Athlete Award is a chance to recognize the amazing things that our athletes do outside of their athletic achievements. Beyond just winning games, Campolindo athletics also strives to create athletes who are upstanding members and leaders in our community. This award is a way for fellow athletes, coaches, and parents to nominate athletes to be recognized for the great things they are doing off of the field courand pool. If you know of an athlete that is deserving of such recognition please fill out the form below to nominate a student-athlete:

NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT RECOGNITION CEREMONY -- Campolindo will be holding its Fall NLI Recognition Ceremony, Date TBA (around Mid November). If your student athlete is planning on signing an NLI and would like to participate in the ceremony, please email the student athlete's name, sport and college to AD Ray Meadows. We will be holding another ceremony in the Spring for athletes that will be signing later in the year.

What services are provided for students? 

  • Students can participate in a variety of services including mental health counseling, support and empowerment groups, referrals to community agencies and more. Wellness services provided to students are free and confidential. Students can also drop-in to the Wellness Center before/after school, lunch/brunch, and for short breaks if needed. 

How do I refer a student to the Wellness Center? 

  • You can refer a student to the Wellness Center by completing the online referral form or contacting the Wellness Center via email. You can also refer students by contacting the student's School Counselor.

The DEIB Grant Program is here to support you! The Campolindo DEIB Committee is giving $100+ dollar grants to student-led projects that promote diversity, inclusion, and belonging in our Campo community. This will be a collaborative process and provide real-life experiences for any future equity-minded entrepreneur. The grant application period will be open from September 8th - 21st. FRESHMAN CLASS NEWS
