NEW: MORAGA COMMUNITY SERVICE DAY, October 1 & 2. The town of Moraga has a rich history of community service, residents rolling up their sleeves to help people in need and to make Moraga and its extended community a better place. Of these ideals was born the Moraga Community Service Day project, with the singular goal of bringing the townsfolk together to assist those in need, and help beautify our schools and Town. NEW: CAMPO NIGHT LIVE Tickets go on sale Monday, October 3 at lunch. Tickets are $10 cash. Limited seating, four nights only. Faculty hosts are Mr. McNevin (October 12), Mr. Alvarez (October 13), Ms. Tarantino (October 14), and Mr. Donohoe (October 15). Campo Jazz Band will be featured all four nights.


NEW: 2023 CREATIVE YOUTH AWARDS Submissions are open October 10, 2022 - January 12, 2023. Categories include: creative writing, film, music composition, music performance, performance art, photography and visual art. More information here.


NEW: CAMPO GARDEN CLEANUP Campo's Leadership Sustainability Board is scheduling a workday in the Campo Garden for the Campo community on October 8 at 10am. We will be working on a variety of garden cleanup activities like mulching, planting, and installations. We would love your participation as well as the participation of your students (who can earn community service/volunteer hours for their participation). Hope to see you there!

CAMPO CHOIR FALL CONCERT, September 27, 7:30pm. Join us tomorrow in the CPAC for the first choir performance of the year. Come enjoy the beautiful voices of the concert choir, chamber singers, and treble ensemble. Buy your tickets here.

ACT AND SAT PRACTICE TESTS AND BOOT CAMPS Tried & True Tutoring is offering practice exams and study sessions on our campus. The practice exams are a great opportunity to find out how you would perform on a real exam and determine which exam is right for you. The boot camps are high-energy crash courses designed to quickly familiarize students with key strategies for success on the exams. Registration link and more info can be found here.


SUSTAINABLE LEADERS IN ACTION Is your student interested in sustainability, climate change, or the environment? Sustainable Leaders in Action (SLIA) is the youth leadership branch of Sustainable Contra Costa, made up of both high school and college students. Click here for more info.

NEW: NEXT COLLEGE STUDENT ATHLETE PRESENTATION Monday, September 26, Acalanes High School is hosting Julian Jenkins of Next College Student Athlete. This organization is a major sponsor of the CIF and provides services to student-athletes and their families that are interested in attending college and continuing in athletics. The presentation is at Acalanes High School at 7:00pm in the Performing Arts Center. It is free of charge and anyone is welcome to attend. 


NEW: HOOPS 4 ALL Hoops 4 All is a nonprofit organization founded by Campo senior Alvaro Ledezma dedicated to making the sport of basketball accessible to underprivileged Bay Area communities. For its inaugural project, Hoops 4 All is partnering with Edward M. Downer Elementary of San Pablo to hold basketball camps for its students and make renovations to the school’s courts. If you’re interested in supporting the initiative consider checking out the project’s GoFundMe. Additionally, if your child is interested in coaching a team of Downer students at the Hoops 4 All basketball camps have them complete this Google Form or contact Alvaro

NEW: MORE CAREER FOCUSED EVENTS “What do I want to do when I grow up? Hmm, I’m not sure.” We’re here to help! This year the College & Career Center is working hard to expand our support to assist students identify compatible and meaningful careers. This includes Career Assessments in October, a monthly lunchtime Career Speaker Series, an overview from DVC on their certificate/AA degree Career-Education Programs, and more! We’re excited to help students find their unique path! Keep your eyes open as events become available and register early since space is limited.


NEW: DVC CAREER-EDUCATION PRESENTATION FOR STUDENTS, January 11, during Academy in the College & Career Center. Not only does DVC offer a transfer pathway to colleges and universities, they offer over 50 certificate and AA degree programs that provide students with the education needed for specific occupations. These programs are a terrific training ground for students who know a 4-year degree is not right for them. Register in Teachmore, under Batcheller.


NEW: VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIR, October 9, 10:00-3:00pm. This virtual college fair is a great opportunity to connect with colleges from the comfort of your own home. Have a quick video chat with a rep, drop in on a virtual presentation, or send a question through chat. Note: the website lists the time as 1:00-6:00pm EDT which is 10:00-3:00pm our time. CAREER ASSESSMENT ACADEMIES October 19 & 21 We are hosting a 2-part Career Assessment to help students learn how to identify their career interests and research compatible jobs.  

  • Part 1, October 19: Take the career assessment and see the results
  • Part 2, October 21: Learn how to research compatible jobs, including education requirements, what the work involves, how the field is trending, salary, location, etc.  

Open to Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors. Sign up for BOTH sessions on Teachmore under Batcheller.  


FIRST GENERATION/FOREIGN STUDENT UNION LUNCH HANGOUT Will you be first-generation-to-college or are you from another country and want to meet other like-minded students to learn about the college and career process? SEPTEMBER IS SUICIDE AWARENESS MONTH Suicide is one of the leading causes of preventable death in our nation today. Education is key to prevention! Being aware of the signs associated with suicide, suicide facts and statistics, and how to get support for at-risk youth can help save lives. Never be reluctant to get involved and always take your child's desire or intent to harm themselves seriously. Visit the NAMI website here to learn about warning signs, risk factors, and how to handle a crisis. You can also check out this easy to read flyer. CAMPOLINDO DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND BELONGING

DRIVERS NEEDED FOR CAMPO'S DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STUDENT CLUB On Friday mornings in September, members of Campo's diversity and inclusion student club, the Cultivate Thinking Club, will provide age-appropriate DEIB classroom lessons and activities to 5th graders at each of Moraga's local Elementary schools. We are in need of drivers to transport student club members to-and-from the elementary schools between 10-11am. If you are available to drive on one (or several) of these Fridays, please sign up here.

UC APPLICATION ACADEMY September 28 & 30 in the College & Career Center. Our very own Mr. Magno is an application reader for UC Berkeley. He will be talking about how to present your best UC application and how to avoid common mistakes. Since the talk on both days will be identical, students can register for only ONE of these two academies. Space is limited to 30 students. Register under Batcheller in Teachmore.


FREE WEBINAR ON UNDERSTANDING FINANCIAL AID September 29, 6:30-7:30pm (over Zoom). Join financial aid expert Matt Mulhern of College Aid Pro to learn the do's & don'ts of navigating the scholarship & financial aid world. You will leave with a clear understanding of how the college aid process works and how to put your family in the best possible position in this ever-changing college landscape. Register here.
