NEW: REGISTRATION IS OPEN FOR AP EXAMS Sign up for AP exams by November 10 to avoid late fees. Join your AP class section through your College Board account, using your join code which can be found here, then purchase your AP Exam on the CHS Webstore. More information can be found on the CHS website.


NEW: ADVOCACY WEEK FOR EDUCATION Here are some things you can do this week to advocate for education and children. Attend a school board candidate forum for your district. See flyer for more information. Check your status and register to vote if you have not yet done so. Get familiar with Proposition 28--Funding Arts & Music Education. Read about Proposition 31—Yes or No to Banning Flavored Tobacco Products. Also, get to know who’s running for Superintendent of Public Instruction, State of California.


NEW: CPC BOARD MEETING NEXT WEEK, October 11, 9:00-10:30am in the Campo Library. Agenda will be posted on the CPC website before the meeting. All members are welcome!


NEW: MORAGA ROTARY CLUB COLLEGE ADMISSIONS PRESENTATION Rotary Club of Moraga will have an event on November 1 titled "The Ins & Outs of the College Admissions Process" which will be hosted in person at Moraga's Serbian Church. Annie Wells will be sharing insights to the college admissions process that is applicable for U.S. accredited colleges & universities. Additional details can be found here or on their website.


NEW: COMING SOON, CAMPO PARENTS BOOKCLUB Please join us for the fall meeting of the CPC Bookclub. The book we will be discussing is: The Parent Compass, Navigating Your Teen’s Wellness and Academic Journey in Today’s Competitive World by Cynthia Clumeck Muchnick and Jenn Curtis. CAMPOLINDO STUDENT UNION Campolindo is excited to announce that peer-mediation services will now be offered through our newly formed Student Union. The Student Union is dedicated to fostering a campus culture of inclusivity and belonging by helping students resolve differences and misunderstandings through respectful and mindful communication. CAMPO NIGHT LIVE Tickets go on sale today, Monday, October 3 at lunch. Tickets are $10 cash. Limited seating, four nights only. Faculty hosts are Mr. McNevin (October 12), Mr. Alvarez (October 13), Ms. Tarantino (October 14), and Mr. Donohoe (October 15). Campo Jazz Band will be featured all four nights.


SAT REGISTRATION The next SAT that will be administered at Campo will be on November 5. The deadline to register for the November 5 test date is on October 7. Register here. Any questions, contact Mary Kenny-Broda.


CAMPO GARDEN CLEANUP Campo's Leadership Sustainability Board is scheduling a workday in the Campo Garden for the Campo community on October 8 at 10am. We will be working on a variety of garden cleanup activities like mulching, planting, and installations. We would love your participation as well as the participation of your students (who can earn community service/volunteer hours for their participation). Hope to see you there!


2023 CREATIVE YOUTH AWARDS Submissions are open October 10, 2022 - January 12, 2023. Categories include: creative writing, film, music composition, music performance, performance art, photography and visual art. More information here.

LEADERSHIP UPDATES Events happening on campus--remind your students!

  • CHILDREN'S CANCER DRIVE Care kit drive for UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. Please consider donating new items off the list--drop off in Ms. Webb-Peploe's room (E9) through October 14.
  • CLOTHING DRIVE Donate gently used clothing to the Clothed and Covered Project Bay Area. All donations will go to the Prescott Joseph Center for Community Enrichment of West Oakland. Drop off locations are in the library, office, and kitchen. 
  • FRESHMAN VS. TEACHERS Basketball Game at lunch on October 7.
  • CAREER ASSESSMENT October 19 & 21 College & Career Center is hosting a 2-part career assessment to help students learn how to identify their career interests and research compatible jobs. Open to 10th-12th grade, sign up for Academy with Mrs. Batcheller.

NEW: GET TO KNOW LIBRARIAN MS. MORGAN I arrived in the beautiful hills of Moraga in 2015 from Merced, CA. I came to Campolindo High School specifically to take the all-important job of teacher librarian, as the librarian before me was retiring. This is a faculty position that requires a very specific credential so I think Mr. Walker was relieved I accepted the position.  Click here to read more...

ATHLETICS NEWS

HOOPS 4 ALL Hoops 4 All is a nonprofit organization founded by Campo senior Alvaro Ledezma dedicated to making the sport of basketball accessible to underprivileged Bay Area communities. For its inaugural project, Hoops 4 All is partnering with Edward M. Downer Elementary of San Pablo to hold basketball camps for its students and make renovations to the school’s courts. If you’re interested in supporting the initiative consider checking out the project’s GoFundMe. Additionally, if your child is interested in coaching a team of Downer students at the Hoops 4 All basketball camps have them complete this Google Form or contact Alvaro

NEW: VIRTUAL FAIR FOR LIBERAL ARTS COLLEGES The virtual fairs take place on the 14th of each month, October through December, and consist of a 15-minute webinar on a topic in college admission followed by a one-hour college fair where you can visit as many institutions as you'd like. Register here.


UPDATE: SAT PRACTICE TESTS AND BOOT CAMPS Tried & True Tutoring is offering practice exams and study sessions on our campus. The practice exams are a great opportunity to find out how you would perform on a real exam and determine which exam is right for you. The boot camps are high-energy crash courses designed to quickly familiarize students with key strategies for success on the exams. Click on the link to see dates and times. Register here.


VIRTUAL COLLEGE FAIR, October 9, 10:00-3:00pm. This virtual college fair is a great opportunity to connect with colleges from the comfort of your own home. Have a quick video chat with a rep, drop in on a virtual presentation, or send a question through chat. Note: the website lists the time as 1:00-6:00pm EDT which is 10:00-3:00pm our time. CAREER ASSESSMENT ACADEMIES October 19 & 21 We are hosting a 2-part Career Assessment to help students learn how to identify their career interests and research compatible jobs.  

  • Part 1, October 19: Take the career assessment and see the results
  • Part 2, October 21: Learn how to research compatible jobs, including education requirements, what the work involves, how the field is trending, salary, location, etc.

NEW: MENTAL ILLNESS AWARENESS WEEK IS OCTOBER 4-10 From the National Alliance on Mental Health: Each year, millions of Americans face the reality of living with a mental health condition. However, mental illness affects everyone directly or indirectly through family, friends or coworkers. This week is important to raise awareness of mental illness, fight discrimination and provide support! Each day of the week highlights a different aspect of mental health: Monday-Stigma, Tuesday-Medication, Wednesday-Therapy, Thursday-Disclosing, Friday-Caregiving. To learn more about this week and to see the events and activities offered by NAMI go here.

CAMPOLINDO DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION, AND BELONGING

DRIVERS NEEDED FOR CAMPO'S DIVERSITY & INCLUSION STUDENT CLUB On Friday mornings in September, members of Campo's diversity and inclusion student club, the Cultivate Thinking Club, will provide age-appropriate DEIB classroom lessons and activities to 5th graders at each of Moraga's local Elementary schools. We are in need of drivers to transport student club members to-and-from the elementary schools between 10-11am. If you are available to drive on one (or several) of these Fridays, please sign up here.
