NEW: THANK YOU FOR STAFF LUNCHEON Thank you to everyone who contributed for helping make the Fall Teacher and Staff luncheon on Friday a huge success. Special thanks to our leads, Molly Guthrie and Lisa Weyland, for organizing and delivering a magnificent spread. We had countless teachers and staff comment about all the delicious food and how special and appreciated this lunch made them feel.


CAMPO PARENTS BOOKCLUB NEXT WEEK There's still time to read the book! Join us for our fall CPC Bookclub meeting on Wednesday, November 8, 7pm in the Campo Library. The book is: Never Enough, When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic--and What We Can Do About It by Jennifer Breheny Wallace. In the ever more competitive race to secure the best possible future, today’s students face unprecedented pressure to succeed. Join us in reading this New York Times bestseller, where Wallace delves into the root of the crisis plaguing today’s teens and offers a practical framework for how to help. CAMPOLINDO TOURS FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS Tours will be offered to prospective students and their families on November 1 (full), November 15, December 6, February 7, March 6, and April 3. The tours will visit a variety of classrooms and featured locations on campus, followed by a Q&A at the end. Tours meet in “A Hall West” outside the Attendance Office at 3:30pm. Please email Mrs. Sliwinski to reserve a spot for a tour. 


INSTRUCTIONAL AIDES The District is currently seeking applicants for classroom Instructional Aides. Instructional Aides need no previous training, just a willingness to learn new skills and help students succeed. It is the perfect job for a parent of school-aged children. Applications should be submitted on Edjoin.org.


LATEST ISSUE OF THE CLAW IS AVAILABLE Introducing the latest issue of The Claw, Campolindo’s student run publication! To produce future issues, The Claw is asking for your support. Your generous donations will help cover annual website hosting fees and go towards producing future issues, which will ensure The Claw’s continued success. Donate here. TRIED & TRUE TUTORING ACT PRACTICE TEST Saturday, November 4, 9am-1pm. It is important to take tests for many out-of-state test-optional colleges. Ex. 80% of the engineers at CU Boulder submitted ACT/SAT test scores. For STEM students ACT is the preferred exam. Register here. A portion of the proceeds benefits the AAUW Scholarship Fund.


FINALS FUEL FALL ‘23, WEDNESDAY 12/20 & THURSDAY 12/21 Finals Fuel is a wonderful Campo tradition during finals week when Campo parents fund and distribute 8,000+ healthy snacks to hungry and grateful students between their final exams. We are a 100% parent-supported activity and we need your help! Click here to learn how to donate cash, buy snacks, and distribute them to students on campus!

ATHLETICS NEWS

NEW: BOYS LACROSSE INTEREST FORM  Campo Boys Lacrosse will be having open fields and winter conditioning before the spring season starts. If you are a returning or new player thinking about joining the team, please fill out this interest form so you can know what is happening. No experience necessary to play lacrosse and all are welcome!

Athletes need to be cleared on Sportsnet in order to try out or to start practicing. To register for Campo Athletics click here. Fall sport athletes that wish to try out for a winter sport need to contact the head coach of the winter sport to communicate their interest in trying out. Regarding the overlap of fall and winter sports seasons, athletes need to finish their current season of sport and then they will be allowed to try out AFTER their current season finishes. For team specific information including tryout dates and practice times please go to: campoathletics.com.


GIRLS BASKETBALL Girls Basketball Varsity and JV tryouts are scheduled for 10/30 (7:30-9:30), 10/31 (3:45-5:45) and 11/1 (3:30-5:30). Anyone playing a fall sport will be allowed to try out once their season is over. If your athlete is planning to attend tryouts, please send an email to Meredith Allen confirming that your athlete has completed the clearance in Sportsnet. 


GIRLS SOCCER Please complete the girls soccer tryout form here if you are interested in playing this season. Tryouts begin today, October 30. Tryout schedule as follows: Monday 10/30 (8-9:30pm), Tuesday 10/31 (8-9:30pm), Wednesday 11/1 (8-8:45pm), Thursday 11/2 (8-9:30pm), and Friday 11/3 (8-9:30pm). SAVE THE DATE Soccer season kickoff social for both boys and girls soccer will be on November 11. Details to come.


BOYS SOCCER Tryouts will begin today, October 30 at Bob Wilson stadium. Athletes should plan to attend all tryout sessions: Monday 10/30 (6-8pm), Tuesday 10/31 (6-8pm), Wednesday 11/1 (8:45-9:15pm), and Thursday 11/2 (6-8pm). Teams will be selected by Saturday, November 4.


BOYS SOCCER PARENT INFORMATION MEETING The Boys Soccer parent info meeting is currently scheduled for Monday, November 6 in the MUR at 5:30pm. 


NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT FALL RECOGNITION CEREMONY If your senior, student athlete will be signing a NLI--National Letter of Intent--and would like to be recognized in our FALL NLI Recognition Ceremony, please email AD Ray Meadows with your senior's name, school they will be attending, and sport to be added to the list of seniors to be recognized. We will be holding a Spring ceremony as well for those that are not yet signing or decided yet by this fall. This FALL ceremony will take place on November 8, 12:50pm in the Campo Quad. 


FEMALE STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING SIGN UP The Campo Athletic Boosters is sponsoring a (free) Female Strength and Conditioning Program on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30pm in Campo's Weight Room. Please use this Sign Up Sheet to sign up for as many sessions as you'd like.

CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIR March 7-9, 2024. This is a local fair and competition that leads to state, national, and international competitions. Scientific topics can include Behavioral, Biological, Engineering, Environmental, Math & Computer, and Physical Sciences. HELIX SUMMER MEDICAL PROGRAM June 7-July 5, 2024Helix Medical is a nonprofit organization that provides medical opportunities and education to students who are both underrepresented and lack the resources to explore the field of health. OCTOBER IS NATIONAL BULLYING PREVENTION MONTH Bullying is linked to many negative outcomes including impacts on mental health, physical health, substance use, and academic achievement. It is important to be able to support students in preventing and navigating bullying when it does occur. Here are a couple of ways educators, parents, and students can take action to combat bullying.

NEW: CAMPO DEIB GRANT PROGRAM The Campo DEIB Grant Program is here to support you! A student committee and the Campo DEIB Committee are giving $100+ grants to student-led projects that promote diversity, inclusion, and belonging in our school communities. This will be a collaborative process and provide real-life experiences for any future equity-minded entrepreneur. The grant application period will be open from November 13-27. If you have an idea, you should apply!
