THIS WEEK: CAMPO PARENTS BOOKCLUB ON WEDNESDAY If you haven't finished reading, you are still welcome to attend our discussion! Join us for our fall CPC Bookclub meeting on Wednesday, November 8, 7pm in the Campo Library. The book is Never Enough: When Achievement Culture Becomes Toxic--and What We Can Do About It by Jennifer Breheny Wallace. To learn more about the book and sign up for an upcoming webinar about this topic, check out our CPC Bookclub Webpage!


NEW: PICTURE RETAKES Make up or retake pictures will take place on Tuesday, November 14 in the CPAC lobby between 10:30am-12pm. This is the last opportunity to take your picture.


NEW: STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED LP's PTA is looking for student volunteers for their STEM Festival on Tuesday, November 14. Volunteers can sign up for one or both sessions (6-6:50pm and 7-7:50pm). Sign up to volunteer here or contact academics@lppta.org for more information. Earn your volunteer hours and get free pizza!


NEW: CPC BOARD MEETING The next CPC board meeting will be on November 14 at 9am in the Campo Library. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend. Agenda will be posted on the CPC website prior to the meeting.


NEW: SENIOR PANORAMA & SENIOR PORTRAITS Don't forget! Senior Panorama is on Wednesday, November 15 during the first half of Academy in the Big Gym. Wear your senior shirts! If you have not yet scheduled an appointment for your senior portrait, make sure you do by contacting Studio One. Appointments run through January 10. Last day to select your portrait for the yearbook is January 15


NEW: CAMPO HOLIDAY COOKIE & TREAT EVENT Join the holiday fun! We would love to thank each of our 150 staff with a plate of 2 dozen homemade cookies and treats. For this event to be a success, we need 100 volunteers to donate 2 dozen cookies or treats on Friday, December 8 by 9am to the staff conference room. Ten volunteers are also needed to help assemble the plates of cookies from 9:00am-12:00pm on Friday, December 8. Thanks in advance for joining the fun! Sign up here.

NEW: LEADERSHIP ANNOUNCEMENTS Here are some of the latest happenings on campus.

  • CULTURAL FAIR There will be a cultural fair at lunch on November 15. Any club or persons welcome to participate.
  • SOFTBALL PRESEASON Preseason conditioning/practice will be held Mondays at 3:45pm and Thursdays at 4pm on the varsity softball fields. Any questions, contact Kate Griffith.
  • NEW CLUB WEBSITE Visit campolindohighschoolclubs.com to learn about over 130 clubs on campus! It's never too late to join a club!
  • NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT Recognition ceremony will be at lunch on Wednesday!

REMINDER: LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER FOR AP EXAMS Deadline is Friday, November 10. After your student has joined their AP Class Section through College Board, register through the CHS Webstore by Friday to avoid late fees. More information here.


CAMPOLINDO TOURS FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS Tours will be offered to prospective students and their families on November 15, December 6, February 7, March 6, and April 3. The tours will visit a variety of classrooms and featured locations on campus, followed by a Q&A at the end. Tours meet in “A Hall West” outside the Attendance Office at 3:30pm. Please email Mrs. Sliwinski to reserve a spot for a tour. 

ATHLETICS NEWS

NEW: BOYS LACROSSE OPEN FIELDS START WEDNESDAY 11/8  LAX Open fields is for new players to learn the game and returning players to work on fundamentals and sharpen skills. They will take place on the lower fields next to the CPAC on Wednesdays from 3:30pm- 5pm. Please fill out this interest form if you are a new or returning player for the 2024 season. No experience necessary to play lacrosse and all are welcome. Questions? Email campolacrosse@gmail.com.


NEW: BOYS SOCCER Thank you to all the athletes that attended tryouts last week. Rosters have been posted and are available on the Soccer page of Campo Athletics.

  • PARENT MEETING 5:30-7:30pm, Monday, November 6 in the MUR - please bring two blank checks.
  • GEAR AND SPIRIT WEAR Your player will need to order Gray and Navy training tops unless they already have from previous years. You can get those and this season's spirit wear here. Order deadline is November 12 to ensure prompt delivery of training gear.  
  • SEASON KICKOFF BOYS/GIRLS SOCIAL Please mark your calendars for Friday, November 10 from 1:00-3:30pm. Sign up here to donate snacks.
  • FOOTGOLF BOYS SOCCER SOCIAL Corica Park Golf, November 11 at 2:00pm.


NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT FALL RECOGNITION CEREMONY If your senior, student athlete will be signing a NLI--National Letter of Intent--and would like to be recognized in our FALL NLI Recognition Ceremony, please email AD Ray Meadows with your senior's name, school they will be attending, and sport to be added to the list of seniors to be recognized. We will be holding a Spring ceremony as well for those that are not yet signing or decided yet by this fall. This FALL ceremony will take place on November 8, 12:50pm in the Campo Quad. 


FEMALE STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING SIGN UP The Campo Athletic Boosters is sponsoring a (free) Female Strength and Conditioning Program on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30pm in Campo's Weight Room. Please use this Sign Up Sheet to sign up for as many sessions as you'd like.

NEW: SENIOR CELEBRATION PARENT FOOD SIGNUP Every year the College & Career Center holds a party to celebrate the hard work our Seniors have put towards their college applications and other post-grad plans. Friday, December 1 during Academy. We provide a lot of the food, but ask parents to fill in the rest. Please consider signing up to donate here.


NEW: BUSINESS CAREER TALK Anthony Marino, President of thredUP will discuss his entrepreneurial journey building the world’s largest used apparel marketplace, and also give the students a framework for thinking about different parts of an e-commerce organization and how they can position themselves for internships. If possible, students should bring their lunch from home to eat during the talk to avoid time in the cafeteria line. Friday, December 8, at lunchtime, in E13. Register here.


UPDATE: AUHSD OUT-OF-STATE COLLEGE FAIR November 29, 6:30-8:30pm. Come meet admission counselors from more than 15 colleges in the Acalanes library! Learn about the benefits of out of state schools, scholarship opportunities, financial aid and costs, and how to find your “match” school.  Register here.


AI FOR FINANCIAL GOOD CHALLENGE This school year, Girls Who Code challenges students to create projects on how AI can be used to help people with their finances. Deadline for project submission is March 1Details and registration here.


CONTRA COSTA COUNTY SCIENCE & ENGINEERING FAIR March 7-9, 2024 This is a local fair and competition that leads to state, national, and international competitions. Scientific topics can include Behavioral, Biological, Engineering, Environmental, Math & Computer, and Physical Sciences. Registration deadlines are as early as December. Learn more and register here.


HELIX SUMMER MEDICAL PROGRAM June 7-July 5, 2024Helix Medical is a nonprofit organization that provides medical opportunities and education to students who are both underrepresented and lack the resources to explore the field of health. NEW: VAPING & TEENS 101 WEBINAR Join the Contra Costa County Office of Education for a live virtual presentation on vaping and teens. Topics covered include: the latest tobacco products used by young people, the impact of vaping on young people, and ways that adults can support young people in their lives. There is no cost to attend although pre-registration is required. 


NEW: WELLNESS WEBSITE Check out our new district Wellness website! We've compiled all our resources into one place. You can find information about the Wellness program and learn more about each high school's Wellness Center. Resources available for both students and parents/guardians!

CAMPO DEIB GRANT PROGRAM The Campo DEIB Grant Program is here to support you! A student committee and the Campo DEIB Committee are giving $100+ grants to student-led projects that promote diversity, inclusion, and belonging in our school communities. This will be a collaborative process and provide real-life experiences for any future equity-minded entrepreneur. The grant application period will be open from November 13-27. If you have an idea, you should apply!
