CAMPOLINDO WELLNESS CENTER

SEASONAL DEPRESSION With daylight savings fully underway, the Wellness Center wanted to provide some tips for supporting mental health with the change and some information on seasonal depression. While fall is a favorite for some, for others, the change in the amount of sunlight throughout the day can increase depressive symptoms or cause an increase in other negative emotions. The “winter blues” tends to begin around this time with one in five reporting more depressive symptoms or feeling down during late fall and winter months. Some suggestions for supporting mental health during this time include brightening up your spaces, adjusting your sleep schedule, practicing extra self care, spending time with loved ones, and spending time outside in the sun when possible. For more information and some tips for coping with depressive symptoms from the weather, click here for an article.
