Medina will give the keynote address at the undergraduate commencement ceremony on Wednesday, May 18 at the Prudential Center in Newark. A separate ceremony will be held for master’s and doctoral degree candidates on Thursday, May 19, at 7 p.m. in the Sports and Recreation Center on campus.
The Pioneers secured their 13th NJAC Tournament title in program history, and their first in 25 years. WP also earns the NJAC’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, and will return to the national stage for the first time since 1999. The 2022 NCAA Tournament field will be announced Monday, May 16, at 12:00 p.m.
During the event, Distinguished Alumnus honoree Rich Geraffo ’85 and his wife Daria made a $50,000 commitment to fund additional scholarships—ones that are specifically focused on juniors and seniors who are struggling to remain enrolled at WP due to financial issues. Also honored were Professor Emerita Jean Levitan, PhD, and CPA advisory firm Withum.
The University has received full accreditation for its PsyD in clinical psychology program from the American Psychological Association for 10 years, with an effective date of December 2, 2021. 
Kimberly Pena ’21 says her role as the AmeriCorps Changebuilder coordinator in the Office of Campus Activities, Service, and Leadership (CASL) has presented her with the opportunity to give back to the institution that supported her through one of the most difficult times of her life.

Janais Martinez was accepted into the Trentino Music Festival in Trentino, Italy. Alejandro De Los Santos, Thomas Jefferson, and Salvatore Montero have been accepted into the Prague Summer Nights Festival in Tabor and Prague, Czechia. All four students recently performed in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro) on campus.
Chieco, who wants to work in web development and would love a position that also includes a database management component, credits the support of WP’s MaCS (math and computer science) Scholars Program for giving her the courage to “overcome the odds” in a field that is, nationally, male dominated.
Vallone, a psychology major, came out on top after reaching the finals as one of the four top college bowlers from across the country to compete in the men’s division at the Stardust Bowl in Illinois.
Albuquerque has been elected as a Distinguished Fellow by the National Academies of Practice (NAP), a non-profit organization that advises governmental bodies on the healthcare system. Fellowship in the organization is an honor extended to those who have excelled in their profession and are dedicated to furthering interprofessional practice, scholarship, and policy in support of interprofessional care.
