Staff and Student Holiday - Labor Day, September 7
All district campuses and offices will be closed Monday, September 7. Enjoy your three-day weekend!
First Day of School Highlights - August 20
EMS ISD teachers and staff welcomed approximately 21,000 students to 28 campuses virtually on August 20, the first day of school for the 2020-2021 school year. Copper Creek Elementary, the district's newest campus, welcomed more than 400 Cowboys to its online classrooms.

The first day of Remote Learning was an overall success for EMS ISD students, thank you! Your unwavering perseverance in these unprecedented times is what will make September 8 another success that we can all celebrate.

Be sure to check out the EMS ISD First Day video on the district's YouTube page.

We are #emsproud!
In-Person and Choice Remote Learning Starts September 8
As we prepare for In-Person beginning on September 8, while continuing Choice Remote Learning, here's a few helpful reminders to consider:

  • Social Media - As we all work and learn in this different environment, we must remember to reflect our health safety protocols as we continue to celebrate successes with our community. Please review our Social Media Best Practices during COVID-19 guidance for taking photos and making social media posts during the pandemic.
  • Tech support - Teachers in need of technology support have direct access to their campus instructional technical specialist or can contact the IT department throughout the school day for instructional assistance. For assistance with device care or software understanding, please call the Help Desk at 817-847-2990. Many questions also can be answered on the Teacher Expectations FAQ page.
  • Reconnect 2020 - Remember to check the Reconnect 2020 website regularly for updates!

For those of you offering after-hours support to students at the elementary or secondary levels, thank you! You are helping bridge the gap for so many working families and their students.
Regional Principal, Assistant Principal of the Year
The Texas Association of Secondary School Principals has selected Highland Middle School Principal David Coker (pictured left) and Chisholm Trail High School Assistant Principal Wat Harden as Region 11's Outstanding Principal and Assistant Principal of the Year.

Coker, left, has more than 30 years of experience in education. Read more about him on the district website. Harden has been in education for 17 years. Read his story on the district website.

Congratulations! We are #emsproud!
Special thanks to our sponsors!
EMS ISD Wellness Corner
September is National Childhood Obesity Month. National Childhood Obesity Month provides a chance for us all to learn more about the serious health condition affecting about 1 in 5 US children. While there is no simple solution, there are many ways communities can support them on their journey to good health. More information and ways you can help support children can be found here.
Employee Perks
EMS ISD employees may enjoy half off their meal each Friday at Ginger Browns with the proof of district badge. Ginger Browns serves traditional home cooked meals but are best known for their mouthwatering cinnamon rolls! Ginger Browns is located at 6312 Jacksboro Hwy, Lake Worth, TX 76135.
