THIS WEEK'S EVENTS

Let the Fresh Air In

This facility tip is so important we are repeating it for a second week! Take advantage of cooler temperatures to open up your windows to help circulate fresh air in and stagnate air out while improving air quality.

Also, residents in O'Daniel North/South and McDonald West please do not turn off the dehumidifier in the apartment.

Laundry 101

Did someone else always do your laundry? Still trying to figure out how to wash and dry your clothes?

Here are some quick tips that will make your laundry experience easier.

  • Don't overfill the washer. Leave about 5 inches of space from the top. Now that doesn't mean pack your clothes in like sardines. Overloaded washers may cause belts to smoke or the machine to catch fire.
  • One washer load of clothes equals one dryer load. Don't put multiple loads in the dryer. There needs to be enough space for clothes to move around in order to dry. So if your clothes aren't getting dry in one cycle, you likely put too many in the machine.
  • Use only 2 tablespoons of eco-friendly detergent for best results. Too much detergent can ruin clothing and damage the washers.
  • Pay attention to your laundry. Don't go off and leave it. Chances are you will get busy binge watching your favorite shows on Netflix and forget about it. Be respectful of other students who want to do their laundry. Be sure to remove your clothes in a timely manner so machines are available for the next student. Students are strongly encouraged not to leave laundry unattended. Housing and Residence Life is not responsible for any items that are lost, stolen or damaged.
