Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,
We are excited to welcome President Gregory Fenves to campus tomorrow for his inaugural visit to Oxford College. During his visit, he will have the opportunity to tour the campus, meet with administrators, and with small groups of students and faculty.
President Fenves will hold a town hall meeting for the entire Oxford community from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. The event is being held in the Greer Forum of the Oxford Student Center.
While in-person seating is limited for this event due to physical distancing safety measures, we invite the campus community to join us live on Zoom for this special event. You can join the Zoom through this link.
Thank you for your dedication to Oxford's students and teaching mission. We look forward to sharing our beautiful campus and our Oxford community with President Fenves this week and to when we can gather all together again in the future.
Best,
Doug

Summer Oxford Research Scholars Program virtual symposium August 27 and 28
|
|
The Summer Oxford Research Scholars Program allows select students to assist faculty with a research project that advances the scholarship of the faculty member over the summer and introduces students to the wonders of scholarly research. Research proposals may come from any academic discipline, and both faculty and students receive a stipend for participating.
Due to COVID-19, the inaugural Summer ORS program was conducted remotely and ORS will host a virtual symposium asynchronously on Thursday, August 27, and Friday, August 28, using Digication. Students and faculty have dedicated countless hours on their research projects and are excited to share their progress with the Oxford community. In the first year of the Summer ORS program, 15 student scholars participated due to the generosity of Deans Doug Hicks and Ken Anderson and the excellent research proposals submitted by so many faculty.
The 2020 Summer ORS Symposium Digication website will launch on Thursday, August 27,
at 11:00 a.m. Please show your support by taking some time to view and comment on the amazing research projects from many different disciplines that cover a wide variety of interesting topics. Summer ORS leaders hope that as many people as possible, especially faculty and staff, will "visit" the symposium and comment on the presentations so that the students can see the impact and promise of their summer work.
You can view the projects here. This video will give you guidance on how to comment on student projects. If you have never accessed Digication before, please see these instructions for registration.
