A note from the Dean
Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,

This has been a difficult week for the Oxford community with the loss of both a student and a beloved professor emeritus. Each of us deals with grief in different ways, and I know that it's sometimes difficult to seek help or to navigate how best to support one another. In addition, although the holiday season can be joyful, it also can be a time when people struggle. This is a compassionate, close-knit community, so please take care of yourselves and each other.

Later this evening—Wednesday—please consider joining us in community at Cups of Care from 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the Dining Hall. Hosted by the Healthy Eagles, we can remind students and ourselves that no matter how you're feeling, you're not alone. There, you’ll be able to:

  • Offer comforting words
  • Write words of affirmation or support on post-it notes for others
  • Take what you need from our "care table" with snacks, face masks, and other study items
  • Enjoy a free hot beverage

Warmly,
Badia
