Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,
As part of Emory’s King Week, Oxford hosted its annual celebration at Old Church last night. Special thanks to Lyn Pace and Wade Manora for their leadership in putting together a meaningful program. I had the honor of introducing Oxford second-year student Dyson Stallworth, our first MLK Oratorical Contest winner, who read his submission on how Dr. King’s words have inspired him to work toward social justice. You can read more about the celebration here.
I’d also like to recognize the 17 Oxford alums who were among Emory’s 100 Senior Honorary for 2023. The 100 Senior Honorary is chosen by the Emory Alumni Board and the Student Alumni Board to recognize the success of outstanding students and identify emerging alumni leaders. Each Oxford alum from this year’s group is listed in the section below, and we are proud of how they have represented us in their time on the Atlanta campus.
As we begin a new semester and continue to support our #OxPrinciples, be sure to check out the video of students reflecting on January’s principle of accountability when it is published later this week. You will be able to view it here.
With gratitude,
Ken

COVID-19 Testing Locations
|
|
To help limit transmission of COVID-19, we strongly recommend all campus members test prior to returning to campus, test upon arrival, and conduct regular COVID-19 testing during the semester.
Vaccination remains the most important tool in our fight against COVID-19. Emory University requires all faculty, and staff to be vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, with certain exceptions allowed. Visit the Vaccine page on Emory Forward for more information on how to get vaccinated.
For COVID-19 Testing services:
-
The Georgia Department of Public Health offers free testing sites across metro Atlanta and throughout Georgia.
-
COVID.gov provides helpful resources for accessing at-home tests.
-
Emory has partnered with DeKalb County to offer three Test-and-Go kiosks that can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Kiosks are located at:
- Emory Point: Surface parking lot next to the CVS on Clifton Road
- Emory Bookstore: Oxford Road in front of the Emory Bookstore
- Oxford College: Whatcoat Street Building (Oxford Mail Center)
The Rapid Acceleration of Diagnostics (RADx) program, in partnership through Emory, provides free PCR tests for participants who are symptomatic. Participants should schedule their appointments in advance and will receive a gift card for their time.
Remember to get your flu shot too! It’s not too late to get your flu shot to help protect you this season. Flu shots can be scheduled through Student Health Services or be found at your local pharmacy/healthcare provider.
