Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,
Looking toward February, there are a few dates to be aware of: The deadline to nominate a colleague for the Jefferson Award—one of the university’s most prestigious honors—is February 17. More details about the award can be found here. Please email Joel Baumgart with any questions.
On February 7, we welcome the in-person return of our Chaplain’s Lecture Series featuring New York Times bestselling author Kate Bowler. A professor at Duke’s Divinity School, Kate was diagnosed with cancer at age 35 and used her newfound perspective to explore how we collectively talk about success, suffering, and change. This Oxford Studies is open to students, faculty, staff, and to the general public. Her lecture will be followed by a Q&A, and she will sign books (available for purchase at the bookstore). Thanks to Lyn Pace for arranging this exciting event.
Finally, I’m happy to share that we are off to a great start for the Class of 2027. You can read here about the talented group of Early Decision I students that will provide the initial foundation for our incoming class. I look forward to seeing how the rest of the class comes together through our Early Decision II and Regular Decision processes.
Best regards,
Ken
