Friend of Oxford Award
The Friends of Oxford Award honors Emory colleagues in Atlanta who have gone out of their way to assist Oxford College and work closely with us. Criteria for this award include working closely with multiple people at Oxford, keeping Oxford in mind when conducting work and planning, and making positive contributions to our work and life at Oxford.
This year, we presented this award to Amir St. Clair, Emory’s Chief Resilience Officer. This award recognizes the incredible efforts and contributions Amir made during and after the pandemic. Amir demonstrated an unwavering commitment to collaboration and teamwork with Oxford. Whenever we requested Amir to attend a meeting, wherever possible he would attend in person and always gave us clear direction on navigating through COVID-19 rules and regulations.
Thank you and congratulations to Amir!
The Fleming Outstanding Service Award
This year, Ansley Holder recevied the Bond Fleming Outstanding Service Award. Here's what other staff members had to say about Ansley:
Ansley is simply the backbone of the SIL department. She oversees countless requests, which support over 90 student organizations in addition to our own office’s seven functional areas. She makes amazing things happen on campus, and she does so with an attention to detail and humility that is unparalleled.
Ansley approaches her work with both students and community partners with care and compassion.
She is a logistics mastermind who is somehow able to solve the jigsaw puzzle of student placements and transportation each semester in the face of many moving pieces and challenges. She is a strategic thinker, problem solver, and a wonderful collaborator.
Ansley has a fantastic ability to work across campus and build connections with faculty, staff, and students. She models servant leadership and excellent emotional intelligence.
I am thankful every day for the opportunity to watch and learn from Ansley and our colleagues in SIL. They are a foundational part of each student’s flourishing and development and are often the first point of contact for students in many situations. Ansley has consistently demonstrated that her care and concern for our students and our community partners is a crucial priority that carries over into all areas of engagement with students and faculty. She is a critical pillar of our community that would never seek acknowledgement of that fact--and it is for this facet of her person that I am especially thankful to work alongside her.
Congratulations Ansley! Your contributions make our team stronger, and your partnership is invaluable to Oxford.
