Dear Faculty and Staff Colleagues,
Yesterday we hosted Dr. Walter Hood and his team on campus for the Twin Memorials Design Phase kick-off. We also held listening sessions with the local descendant community as the project continues to take shape. I look forward to seeing all the progress the coming months will bring. Read more about Walter Hood and his team here.

How long have you been at Oxford?
As a member of RES at Oxford, I am responsible for supervising three RLCs and oversee our Resident Assistants. What do you like best about your job and about Oxford?
I absolutely love working at Oxford! It's such a fulfilling experience to see our students transform into incredible leaders and grow as individuals. One of the things that drew me to this job was the sense of community and the close-knit environment. Building relationships with both our students and coworkers is so important to me, and it definitely contributes to my overall happiness at work. It's a privilege to be a part of such an amazing team!

What is your favorite song/tv show/movie/restaurant/podcast?
My favorite restaurant is definitely BoneFish. The seafood there is always fresh and delicious. When I'm not enjoying a meal there, you can usually find me at home watching my favorite show, Wonder Years. I love the nostalgia and heartfelt moments it brings. One of my other passions is helping pageant contestants prepare for Miss SC. It's rewarding to see them grow and succeed on stage.

What makes you happy or brings you joy?
Music brings me joy as it allows me to explore my creative side and express my thoughts and emotions. Spending time with my family and friends also brings me joy, as they bring laughter, love, and support into my life. Creating memories with them, whether it's through traveling, trying new activities, or simply having a meal together, is something I cherish. These moments are priceless and make life worth living.

Interactive Fiction Library Experience
|
|
Paige Crowl, Ginny Hudgins, and Jacob Lackner, Oxford College Librarians, presented a poster about their interactive fiction library experience at the 2023 Georgia Libraries Conference in Athens. The three used Twine software to create an interactive story that allows people to play through a visit to the library. They then fielded different questions about their process and explained to other librarians how they could use Twine in their own libraries. The response was extremely positive and gave the group fresh inspiration for further interactive library adventures. You can play their interactive experience here, and learn more about their research here.
