The City of Windsor is proud to host the 2022 Can-Am Police-Fire Games on July 25th-31st. The focus will be on promoting physical fitness and camaraderie among and between Canadian and American law enforcement, fire, emergency and protective service personnel and their agencies. As a community, we have always shown our support for the men and women of the emergency services, and yet, this COVID-19 pandemic has crystalized just how truly vital responders and frontline workers are, and it makes participation in these games all the more poignant.

One of the events you will not want to miss is the Toughest Firefighter Alive (TFA) to be held on Saturday, July 31st at the Riverfront Festival Plaza. The TFA competition involves four segments that include a hose, obstacle, weight and climbing events with specifications and the fastest time. Sportsmanship and respect for emergency service personnel are a focus of the games and will be celebrated on and off the field during the 44 competitions and many hospitality events. Don’t miss this opportunity to have some fun and take home some hardware along with bragging rights.

On behalf of Windsor Fire & Rescue Services we invite our local and visiting firefighters to take the challenge and sign up today to join us at the 2022 Can-Am Police-Fire Games.

Toughest Firefighter Alive (TFA)

Presented by:

St. Clair College Alumni Association is the proud sponsor of the TFA competition. This event consists of a series of firefighter tasks that are performed in a calculated order to compete for the fastest time possible in hose, obstacle, weight and climbing challenges. In addition, the community event will offer a kids zone, interactive displays, and spectator grandstands to cheer on participating firefighters.

It is a natural fit for St. Clair College Alumni Association to support the TFA, considering that the college is the educational institute and home for specific training offerings in pre-service firefighter education, paramedic and emergency medical services, law enforcement, and border services. St. Clair College Alumni invites the public to attend the event on Saturday, July 30th, and celebrate the success of the student alumni firefighters as they compete at the highest performance level to strive to win a medal as one of the Toughest Firefighters Alive.

One of the key elements of the competition is the four-storey tower for the climbing portion of the contest. The magnitude of the tower and the required strength and speed to get from bottom to top are truly for the fittest of the fit. Oscar Construction and Skyway Canada will collectively build this tower with safety in mind for the firefighters who take on this challenge and for the requirements of this incredible competition.

The games organizers extend a special thank you to our TFA sponsors: St. Clair College Alumni Association, Oscar Construction and Skyway Canada.
