Can America Be Fixed?

As we approach the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States of America, many Americans are asking a question that would have seemed unimaginable to previous generations:

Can America be fixed?

We love our country.

We are grateful for the freedoms we enjoy.

We are proud of much of our history.

But many of us are also deeply concerned.

Concerned about the world our children and grandchildren are inheriting.

Concerned about division, anger, and distrust.

Concerned about the breakdown of families and communities.

Concerned about the loss of shared values.

Concerned about what America may look like twenty-five years from now.

Over the next several weeks, we are beginning a new sermon series on a simple but challenging question:

What would it take to fix America?

Not according to politicians.

Not according to Fox News or MSNBC.

Not according to the social feeds or the algorithms.

According to God.

We'll begin with the story of Abraham, the man God called to become a great nation, and we'll explore what Scripture teaches about blessing, character, courage, sacrifice, freedom, and what it truly means to be "one nation under God."

This Sunday's message is called:

"Blessed to Be a Blessing."

If America is to have a future worth handing to our children and grandchildren, we must first answer a more fundamental question:

What kind of people does God bless?

Join us as we begin the conversation.

We are celebrating 200 years!

Perry Methodist Church 200th Anniversary Cookbook Project!

As part of our 200th Anniversary celebration, we are creating a commermorative cookbook to celebrate our church family, honor our rich history, and support Missions.

More than a collection of recipes, this cookbook will preserve the stories, traditions, memories, and favorite dishes that make Perry Methodist Church so special.

We hope it will be a treasured keepsake for generations to come!

How Can You Participate?

Please submit 1–2 recipes to help us create a cookbook that reflects our church family.

We would love to include:

  • Family favorite recipes
  • Children's recipes
  • Special dishes and traditions

We are also looking for:

  • Historical photographs of church life
  • Fellowship and meal memories
  • Short Stories about food, celebrations, and church traditions
  • Special memories that help tell the story of Perry Methodist Church

These recipes, photographs, stories, and memories will help preserve our church heritage and create a meaningful keepsake of our 200th Anniversary year.

Submitting Recipes, Stories, etc

You can submit items to us the following ways.

Clearly Handwritten recipes are welcome.

Please make sure all recipes include:

  • Your name and contact info
  • Recipe name
  • Ingredients
  • Instructions

Photos and stories may be emailed or dropped off at the church office. They will be included as space permits and cannot be returned.

Donating to this project

We are also seeking donations to help offset publication costs.

Every dollar raised toward the cookbook's production helps maximize the amount that can ultimately be directed to Missions.

Donations can be marked "Cookbook" and placed in the offering plate.

We will recognize donors in the Eblast and Bulletin when the cookbook is published (
please note if you would like your donation to be anonymous and you will not be mentioned).

This is just the beginning! Additional information regarding recipe categories, submission deadlines, the cookbook cost and preorder process, and other details will be shared in the coming weeks.

Thank you for helping us celebrate 200 years of faith, fellowship, and community. We look forward to creating something special together that honors our past, celebrates our present, and blesses future generations
.

Please Help Us!

Please help us help others by blacking out the barcodes on any items that you donate to the Blessing Box.

We know it does take more time but it helps ensure that donations go to people who need it. If you have any questions, please call the church office.
