Aren’t they acidic? Yes and no. While needles and leaves from all trees may be acidic initially, they do not acidify the soil as they break down. The soil acts as a buffer - maintaining pH. (This is why Mag-I-Cal needs to be applied when you need to alter pH.) So save your back and mulch the leaves! This will return nutrients to the soil.
