Can You Be a Hero for Hero?
|
|
Hero needs your help ASAP!
Without your support, he won't be able to get life-changing surgery - and Hero needs it soon to alleviate discomfort.
The cost of medical equipment to perform Hero's crucial FHO (hip surgery) - and future similar surgeries for other dogs - is $2,500.
We need to raise about $700 more!
Ultimately, performing this surgery in-house will save thousands of dollars, but to be able to do this, the surgeon needs the tools.
Can you help reach this goal soon?
Every dollar counts when it comes to making a difference for Hero and future shelter dogs in need!
Thank you so very much!

Last week, SSPA Director Delyse drove eight dogs and six cats from Stockton Animal Shelter to rescue partners in Central California!
That's 14 lives saved and more kennels cleared out at the shelter, thanks to coordination by Paws For Life K9 Rescue!
It truly takes teamwork, compassion and dedication to save lives!

This boy with the amazing smile captured his adoptive family members' hearts!
"He is so loving and chill," says his adopter Yolanda.
Congratulations, Rex and family!

Puppy Benji - formerly Butters - continues to thrive with his family!
He had a blast playing with his pup sibling Vasco this weekend!
His adopter Iratxe said, "They connected right away! Benji learned how to jump in the car and to drink water directly from the bottle today by looking at Vasco!"
We're so happy to hear he's fitting right in and has an excellent role model to follow!
We can't wait for more updates!

"Chance is super great with our female dog and we would like to keep him/adopt him," foster/adopter Stephenie said.
Congratulations, Chance, and thank you to his family for fostering and planning to adopt!

Mr. Winters
For this gorgeous boy, white is always in fashion!
He’s a dog lover who has tons of fun with other pups!
With people, it takes more time to gain his trust - but it’s totally worth the wait!
He’s looking for a person who will take it slowly at first - could that be you?!

Zach
This wonderful senior boy is super sweet and so deserving of a loving foster home!
He has participated in playgroups with gentle and dainty females.
More than anything, he just wants to be with people.
He'd likely be medium to lower energy and easy breezy in a home!
|
|
Roxy
Look at this cutie patootie senior girl!
Roxy is so ready to get out of the shelter!
She bonds strongly with her handler and loves being around you.
She’d do best as the only pup in the home, but will give you all the love you need! She’d also do best without young children.
She reportedly did amazingly on her dog day out!
|
|
Alice
This girl is sweet, lovely and gorgeous.
She’s playful, active and likes to talk while playing with her toys (awww).
She'd do best in a home without young children.

Homer
With this goofy guy by your side, every day is like a home run!
This boy has a super adorable smile and happy outlook on life – who couldn’t use some of that?!
He’s energetic and super playful with a rough and rowdy play style with other pups!

Merle
This adorable 3-year-old boy (look at those ears‼️) is looking for a patient and understanding foster or adopter to help him learn to trust and build confidence.
He’ll need his new folks to take it slowly and really work with him at his pace.
With the right home, he should start to show his personality and come out of his shell!
He could be in a home with a well-matched female dog who is more into coexisting than playing.
|
|
Rosie
This beautiful girl is looking for a loving, patient and understanding family who can help build her confidence.
The stress of shelter life is super rough for Rosie, so she's looking for a low-key environment where she can decompress.
Rosie needs someone to show her what love is, build trust and socialization, and take things slowly.
Can you offer Rosie a safe space and show her the world is not such a scary place? Fill out a foster application today.

Chica
Check out this 12-year-old (!!) sweetheart!
She is one amazing senior who can't help but melt your heart!
Look at this face!
She's living comfortably in a foster home, but would love to find her forever!
|

Princess
This little one is finally safe in foster after living on the streets for a while.
She's very sweet and is OK with other dogs.
She's looking for a special adopter who will continue to help her build confidence and work on her fear issues. Her person will need to be patient as she takes some time to acclimate to new people and handling.
A quiet home without young children would be best for her.

Eli
This boy would love nothing more than to be a family’s beloved pet!
He has those head tilts down and has a perfect white stripe down his face!
He’s sweet, LOVES to play with the dogs in his foster home, and becomes your shadow once you’ve gained his trust. He also enjoys long walks and hikes.
Eli is hoping to find a forever home soon with a confident female dog and a loving, supportive family who will help him continue to come out of his shell! There’s not much more rewarding than that!

Oscar
This boy came to the shelter in bad shape. He was an outdoor dog, chained in a kennel his entire life.
With the help of our awesome SSPA team and his foster, he's developed more confidence and learned that life can be good.
Let us tell you - this boy is resilient! He had owners who didn't show him an ounce of compassion, but now he's found a way to trust and even show his silly side.
Understandably, he can take a bit to develop trust, but once he does, he's marvelous!
He's low maintenance, mellow and easy to please, and has successfully lived with cats and other dogs!
|
|
Pancho
This senior boy - 9 years old - so deserves a forever home that will pamper and cherish him!
He walks slowly and just really wants a cushy place where he can cuddle and chill out safely.
He's currently hanging out with a marvelous foster, but would love a permanent home!
|
|
Homer
This handsome dude is a volunteer favorite!
He takes a little time to warm up to people, so he’s looking for a patient and understanding family.
He could be paired with a well-matched female dog in his new home.
Once you gain his trust, he does zoomies and flops over for belly rubs!
|
|
Levi
Adorable pup alert!
This sweet boy recently landed in an SSPA foster home!
He's seeking a family that will help him gain confidence and teach him how amazing being a family dog can be.
Can you help teach this cutie that the world is a safe and happy place?
