Can You Predict the Future?

Nearly 30 years ago, I attended a workshop about planning my own funeral. Sounds morbid, right? It wasn't!
The instructor asked us to visualize our funeral and write out the following:
--what would they say about me?
--what had I accomplished in my life?
--what types of relationships had I built?
--what memories stood out?
--what lessons had I learned?
This simple exercise sent me down a path that still inspires me to this day! Granted, 30 years ago, my own funeral seemed improbable, but it forced me to think about where my life was headed and what I hoped to accomplish.
After considering the answers to those questions, the exercise continued: I then needed to determine what I would have to do to make those fantasies a reality; and from that created an action plan.
Think about it -- if you want to someday make a positive impact in the world and if you want to end up with your integrity intact, your family around you and if you truly want to live life to the fullest -- having a plan will help you get there. Not only that, but a tangible action plan influences your everyday decisions to help you stay on track.
This process works in all areas of your life, both personal and professional and I have used it often for all sorts of things; not the least of which was to help me decide to quit my job and become an entrepreneur.
Throughout our lives we are faced with many forks in the road. Choosing a path to follow can and does determine our experiences in life. Taking the time to create a vision goes a long way toward insuring our success.
Brian Tracy reportedly once said "Set peace of mind as your highest goal; then organize your life around it". It's never too late.... What do you want your eulogy to say about you?

Is Glass a Liquid or a Solid?
Most of us are familiar with glass blowing and how glass appears to be a liquid until it cools. But did you know that glass is neither a solid nor a liquid? It is what is known as an amorphous solid.
Glass has a liquid-like property, but then you cool it and it is pliable and can be stretched and blown into various shapes until it cools farther and then it appears to solidify. But solids include crystals and their atoms line up in a row - glass has/does neither!
So basically what happens is you cool glass to just past the "glass transition" temperature and the molecules slow down until they stop moving -- tada! Glass now appears solid! The difference between glass and solids though is that glass molecules are unorganized (ergo, amorphous).
Isn't this a fancy bit of useless knowledge? I love sharing this type of trivia with you!
So glass is pretty special and most of us have a lot of it! And one of its most special properties is the ability for you to feel uplifted, happy, and energized once your windows have been cleaned!
There is something about a clean window and how bright and cheery the world looks through it, that makes you want to sing! (Well, not me... I can't carry a tune in a window-cleaning bucket!)
And yes, it is summer. And yes, many of you are not here so you're probably thinking, "Why do I care if the windows are clean?"
Let me share with you why you should care: Out of control irrigation or windblown water can leave hard water deposits that can damage the glass. Dirt or sand that 'sticks' to your windows should be removed or risk etching the glass if left in the heat for too long.
Plus, savvy would-be burglars know that dirty windows + little activity in a home = absentee owners. Don't put your home at risk! A good rule of thumb is to clean your windows at least quarterly to help them look their best and prolong the beauty of your glass.

Clearly Speaking...

Wayne Dyer said, "In order to make a visualization a reality in the world of form, you must be willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen".
I personally do not have a crystal ball to see into the future, but I can visualize what I want and go after it. The truly amazing thing about life is that if we can visualize it, we can make it happen via commitment and tenacity and the relentless pursuit of accomplishment.
Remember that the only limitations in life come from our own limiting belief systems.
So, tell yourself that you can accomplish whatever you want! If you believe it deeply enough, if you visualize it often enough, if you take the steps to get there, perhaps you too will find you can predict the future!
