HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING
PCEF IN 2020
What can we say? It's been a year...

...and yet, we experienced joy and astonishing generosity as our community:

It became crystal clear this year: our schools and teachers are critical for successful families and a successful community. As one teacher put it, "Students and families are revealing their understanding that they can no longer take free public education, teacher expertise, and the joy of learning with their peers for granted."

There is much more work to do, but we are confident that together, we can do it. On behalf of the PCEF board and staff, THANK YOU! Have a peaceful, healthy holiday season.
What is it Really Like to Be a Student During a Pandemic?
PCEF college interns Mary Murphy and Sam Fish interviewed dozens of students this fall. They have drawn on their own school struggles in the age of COVID-19 to connect with Park City students and listen deeply to their stories.

What they learned opened the door for a student voices series that speaks to PCEF's mission of inspiring Park City students to reach their academic and lifelong potential.

Kicking off in our January newsletter, we'll hear from our kids as they reflect on school and life during COVID. We'll learn how PCEF programs support them now and in the future.

Student and Educator Wellbeing Front and Center
PCEF is offering virtual events and in-person supports for our students, educators, and families. Read on to learn about these helpful resources during difficult times:
Redefining Success in the Age of COVID19
It's no surprise that our social and emotional health is taking a toll during the pandemic. PCEF is working to support our students and teachers mental health and wellbeing.

PCEF and Communities that Care teamed up to provide a webinar on Redefining Success for teachers, students and ourselves during this uncharted time. Watch the recording and learn practical, loving, and inspirational tips.
PCHS Student Showcase
Long term studies have shown that extra or co-curricular activities play an important role in student development - as much or more so as core class learning. PCEF-funded programs like Bright Futures, Debate, Film, Latinos in Action, PCCAPS and Robotics keep kids engaged and feeling positive toward their education and themselves.

Watch eight PCHS students talk about how these programs are adapting and making a difference in their lives, this year more than ever - thanks to your donations. Volunteers are needed, too!
Family Mental Health Night January 12th
PCEF and Communities that Care are hosting a Family Mental Health night on January 12th. Hear from leading family therapists providing PCSD with a free resource to help parents with important topics such as identifying anxiety, understanding internal family systems, coping with grief, suicide prevention and parenting with purpose, thanks to ParentGuidance.org and the Cook Center for Human Connection.
PCEF Educator Wellness Initiative
Support for Our PCSD Community During COVID
PCEF is committed to helping our PCSD community of principals, teachers, and staff during this unprecedented time. We recognize that our educators are experiencing fatigue, stress, and anxiety. We want to express our sincere gratitude for our educators during this challenging time AND we want to help in the most meaningful ways possible. But we can't do it without YOU!

Read more about the new PCEF Educator Wellness Initiative, and how you can help.
A Cup of Happiness for Our Educators!
PCEF kicked off our first Educator Wellness Initiative offering, hiring the Lucky Ones Coffee Camper to make a tour of all PCSD schools and the district office. From November 20th through December 1st, the coffee camper provided a welcome respite for over 600 educators.

One teacher said, "It's why I came to work today! Such a needed 'pick me up' for teachers & staff. Thank you!!!"
