Dear Chantelle,
"Worrying doesn't empty tomorrow of its sorrows;
it empties today of its strength." Corrie ten Boom
Do you ever wish you had an off switch for your brain? Do you come from a family of worriers like I do? Most of my patients tell me at some point their busy brain is keeping them up at night and impeding their focus during the day. I can help! This is an ongoing journey for me and I want to share some simple tips and important information to help you immediately.
Many of my patients have experienced anxiety, overwhelm, depression, and pain, all of which have multiple causes. Is your anxiety (or your loved one's) caused by poor diet? Lack of sleep? Situational stress? In this 2 part series, we'll help you with solutions to both physical and practical concerns, and contributors.
Brendon Burchard, bestselling author and High-Performance Coach, says, "Anxiety often comes from lack of preparation. " Boy, is that true for me! In Part 2 I'll share several experts' easy tips to streamline and simplify your systems, which is crucial for your mental health as well.
Below, read how the gut and brain are intricately connected, and the state of your gut health can significantly impact your emotional well-being. For example, some hidden causes of anxiety I've seen or personally experienced are gluten, caffeine, artificial sweeteners, or other food sensitivities. Maintaining a balanced gut microbiome through a healthy diet, acupuncture, probiotics, and lifestyle choices can be crucial in managing and preventing anxiety.
I've seen the remarkable benefits from acupuncture in alleviating anxiety and stress. Here are several ways it can help you:
-
Natural Stress Reduction: Acupuncture stimulates the body's natural relaxation response. It helps reduce the production of stress hormones like cortisol, promoting an overall sense of calm. I love how happy and relaxed my patients look after their treatments!
-
Balancing Energy: Acupuncture targets specific energy pathways (meridians) in the body, promoting the flow of energy, or Qi. When Qi is balanced, it can significantly reduce feelings of restlessness and anxiety.
