Aug. 23 - Aug. 29
Despite its name,  Flushing Night Out  will take place  during the day , noon to 6 pm, on Aug. 24. The annual community market features local restaurants and businesses selling products and local artists performing. But it’s in the Capital of the Asian Diaspora, so attendees can expect goodies from various regions of China as well as Korea, Thailand, Japan, and Vietnam.
This gig is for streetwise music lovers. The Louis Armstrong House Museum hosts a Jazzmobile Block Party  on Aug. 24. The main event is a free, outdoor concert with two world-traveling jazz groups ─ Jay Rodriguez’s Latin Swing Band and The Jumaane Smith Quartet ─ but docents will offer free tours of the landmark home every 30 minutes from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Queens Tourism Council Official Foodie Joe DiStefano recently tried the Uruguayan national sandwich, chivito, at El Chivito De Oro in Jackson Heights. He loved the rosy colored beef topped with ham, mozzarella, bacon, and a fried egg, cradled in a puffy brioche style bun that held a layer of lettuce and tomato. Salty, juicy, beefy, smoky, and slightly sweet!

It’s a little tangy, a bit spicy, and rather smoky. It’s also the inspiration for a tremendous, all-day party. It's now on Sunday with basically the same lineup .
