CAN YOU FORGIVE?
Actor/Rapper Will Smith apologizes for hitting Comedian/Actor Chris Rock.
|
|
I think the first step is to understand that forgiveness does not exonerate the perpetrator. Forgiveness liberates the victim. It's a gift you give yourself. It has less to do with what somebody else did as much as it does with your decision to move on with your life and not be continually victimized by rehearsing that issue or incident over and over again.
Bishop T. D. Jakes
|
|
“True transformation starts with forgiveness. Forgiveness is not an occasional act but a permanent attitude.”
Rev. Bernice King
|
|
“You cannot make a person open up to you and accept your forgiveness. When you have wronged somebody, and you know you have wronged them, your duty is to repent and ask for forgiveness.”
Hon. Minister Louis Farrakhan

Haynes III, of Friendship-West Baptist Church, announced 100 Days of Buying Black in acknowledging the 100th Commemoration of the Tulsa Race Massacre, we joined the movement. December 31, 2021 marked 100 days of featuring Black Businesses, and we decided that the struggle continues and we must also. So enjoy reading about more Black-owned businesses and please support.

OUR VOICES
The Needs of American Citizens vs.
Support for Ukraine
|
By Dr. John E. Warren
There is no question that the United States and its allies around the world are committed to supporting the Ukraine people. We have demonstrated this by the amount of aid and relief already sent, and that which the American people collect and send daily. But while we help our friends and neighbors abroad, we must not neglect the needs here at home. To this end, let this be a reminder to the members of the U.S. Senate and the Congress who voted to send $40 billion dollars to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

GEMINI RIGHTS APPEALS TO HEARTBREAK WHILE KEEPING ENERGY ALIVE
|
By Angelina Liu
Entertainment Editor - The Trendsetter
The indie bedroom pop meets R&B album Gemini Rights, by singer Steve Lacy describes the epitome of heartbreak. The struggles of codependency and discontentment in relationships are highlighted throughout the 10 tracks, accompanied with yearning guitar strings and upbeat synths. This album encapsulates the fun, fresh feeling of summer, almost tricking the listener into thinking it’s just that. However, upon listening closely to the lyrics, one can understand the album is based on the many intricacies of tender heartbreak.

Love Field shooter ‘perfect example’ of mental health treatment crisis
Warnings were raised last month that the lack of state psychiatric hospital beds prevented people in Dallas County from getting proper mental health treatment.
|
Dallas County commissioners were warned last month the county faced a crisis: A yearslong waitlist for beds at the state’s psychiatric hospitals prevented people from getting proper mental health treatment. Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot said the woman who opened fire in Dallas Love Field airport this week is a “perfect example” of the predicament he warned county commissioners about.

The Path
As we walk through life's journey, we leave footprints. Some just show where we are going. Others redirect us when we get lost. Still others remain to guide those we leave behind. I see your footprints.
Will you/they see mine?
