Our United Way supports programs that improve lives right here in Jennings County… and today, we need your help more than ever! Giving to United Way is the single best way to help the most people. Your contribution combines with many others just like you, to make a real impact in the lives of people in Jennings County.
Our story is about Community change- a hand up, not a handout. Our United Way has served Jennings County since 1963. The mission has remained constant – to provide vision and leadership in the community’s pursuit of a rich and full quality of life for all people in Jennings County. United Way leads the effort towards that vision by creating opportunities for those in need.
United Way works to improve the financial security of people in our community by supporting agencies and managing internal programs that improve the quality of life in Jennings County.
- Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) - free tax preparation and e-file for low to moderate income individuals and families, to keep more hard-earned dollars in the pockets of those who need it most.
- Charity Tracker, the Jennings County Assistance Network, helps agencies work together in a shared database to serve those in need, reduce duplication in services and stretch assistance dollars.
- Emergency Food & Shelter Program provides agencies with funds for rent, utilities, food & shelter.
- Dollars for Scholars Scholarships make it a little easier for Jennings County graduates to pursue higher education and a financially sound future.
- Workshops & Tax clinics to empower those struggling with tools to build financial security, and more.
- And we fund agency programs based on the success of the annual campaign.
