Rachel Zenzinger for Colorado Senate District 19
Rachel Zenzinger
Colorado Senate Candidate
Dec. 28, 2015
Thanks for the support
at campaign kick-off

Just over 100 enthusiastic supporters showed up for the event Dec. 6 at the Indian Tree Golf Course Club House where we kicked off my campaign for election to the Colorado Senate (Dist. 19), and the energy was invigorating. Our speakers included Sen. Rollie Heath, Sen. Andrew Kerr and Sen. Matt Jones, and they all impressed upon the crowd how important this race is to the dynamics of the legislature and the future of Colorado's political scene.

I want to express my deep appreciation to those gentlemen, plus all the others who were willing to put their names on the list of hosts for the event. For the full list of hosts, see sidebar item

I also want to thank all the folks who dug so deeply into their pockets on that day to help get this campaign going in a positive direction. The $6,500 we raised via the kick-off event will go toward communication tactics such as direct mail pieces, advertisements, brochures and other devices to help educate voters about the ways we plan to make Colorado a better place to live. You can still donate to that kick-off fund by sending a check to Rachel Zenzinger for Colorado, 7725 Marshall St., Arvada, CO 80003 for any amount up to $400, and earmark it as "Campaign Kickoff."

Another December holiday

Before we turn the page on December, I hope you'll help me celebrate one more day which also happens to have a relatively urgent deadline, which I explain below. On Dec. 29, I turn 41 years old. By age 42, I hope to be in a position with the state's legislature to help strengthen Colorado's middle class, provide some well-deserved protection for the elderly, and help find ways to provide our schools with the kinds of resources they need to allow all our young people to have exposure to a quality education.

Please consider donating $41.41, or $100.41, or $200.41 or even $300.41 to this campaign in recognition of my birthday. I would consider it a VERY special birthday gift, and it would mean a lot to me. You can go to my website, www.RachelforColorado.com, and click on the "Contribute" button.

Of course, you can donate even MORE than $300.41 if you like, but your total contribution to this campaign has to remain under $400. So, for instance, $399.41 would work nicely!

Since my birthday occurs so close to the end of the calendar year, it also sets up a deadline of sorts in connection with the campaign finances. If you are willing to make this donation before midnight Thursday (Dec. 31), we can count that donation toward the list of 2015 contributions.   Rachel at kick-off

What's next on schedule

Now that we have officially "kicked off" the campaign, we have plenty to do. Most immediately, of course, the next legislative session is about to begin, and I plan to pay close attention to the bills that might most affect the residents of District 19 in Arvada and Westminster, with particular emphasis on all the unpalatable bills that Sen. Laura Waters Woods is likely to introduce/support.

Additionally, we will begin laying the groundwork for the campaign, which I anticipate will be even more intense than the last election. Some of the items on our to-do list: Identify a campaign manager who will work closely with volunteers and other supporters; craft the campaign messaging in ways that will make our brochures and other materials easy for voters to understand and appreciate; and line up volunteers for all the tasks that a campaign as vibrant as this one will require.
Found glasses at event

Somebody at the kick-off event left their sunglasses. They are women's glasses, light green. If they are yours, call us at 303-748-0770, and you can pick them up.

Donations

Every important political campaign these days requires significant funding, and this one is no exception. We need to find a way to pay for brochures, direct mail pieces, advertisements and other tools to help make voters aware of their choices. Please consider making any level of contribution to the "Rachel Zenzinger for Colorado" campaign, and help me get elected in 2016.
