High Street Improvements in Sutton

High Street in Sutton will undergo redevelopment beginning this summer. Major streetscape and infrastructure upgrades are planned. Phase 1 construction in the areas outside of the Business Improvement Area (Dalton Road to River Street and West Street to Highway 48) is planned to be completed in 2026 and will include replacing aging watermains, upgrading stormwater infrastructure and reconstructing the road with new sidewalks and curbs. Phase 2 construction begins in 2027. Follow the project to receive updates at georgina.ca/HighStreet.

All High Street businesses will be open during construction. For ideas on where and how to shop locally, visit georgina.ca/ShopLocal.

Take Part in #CleanupGeorgina

Small actions can make a big impact. Join the Town's #CleanupGeorgina initiative and help keep Georgina’s parks, trails, beaches and neighbourhoods clean for everyone to enjoy. Free cleanup kits, including gloves and garbage bags, are available at participating Town facilities. Every bag of litter removed helps protect local wildlife, enhance public spaces and build community pride. Visit georgina.ca/litter to learn more and get involved.

Coming soon! Terry Fox Memorial Park

A new community park is coming soon to Georgina. Located in the Orchid Trail subdivision at Woodbine Avenue and Church Street, Terry Fox Memorial Park will honour the legacy of Terry Fox and his Marathon of Hope. The park will feature a fully accessible play structure, a river-themed splash pad inspired by Terry Fox's journey along the St. Lawrence River, a walking path, a shade structure and an age-friendly fitness zone. Visit georgina.ca for updates on the park opening.

Don't overlook the big dogs!

Large and power-breed dogs are often among the longest residents in animal shelters, waiting weeks or even months longer than other pets for a family to give them a chance. These dogs have so much love to give and are waiting for someone willing to look beyond first impressions. Visit the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre and take a moment to meet the big dogs. You may discover that your perfect match is the one everyone else overlooked.
