Game Plan YXE is going virtual
The Canadian Sport Centre Saskatchewan is changing Game Plan YXE from a one-day event to monthly online workshops from September 2020 to March 2021. These interactive workshops will cover a variety of topics all geared toward Saskatchewan's high performance athletes and will give everyone a chance to come together and learn.
October 2020 - Transition: The role it plays in and out of sport
You may have heard that the only thing guaranteed in life is that things will change. With that in mind, we know that transitions are inevitable — they occur often in our lives and especially in our athletic careers. Join us on Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. (SK time) for a panel discussion and a deep dive into transitions with some of Saskatchewan's elite athletes led by Jasmine Mian, Olympian and host of the Life Beyond Sport podcast.
November 2020 - Clean Sport: Five important steps
Please join us on Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. (SK time) for a workshop focused on the five important steps to practicing Clean Sport: Check your Medications (via Global DRO), Know your Medical Exemption Requirements, Be Cannabis Smart, Questions Supplements, Live your Values. This webinar is developed to be interactive and allows for athlete engagement through the support of a member of the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) team.
December 2020 - Looking forward to 2021
This is a two-session workshop that will be held on Dec. 2 and Dec. 9 (both starting at 6 p.m. SK time). During the first session, co-facilitators Lisa Hoffart (Mental Performance consultant) and Amy Van Buskirk (Canadian Sport Institute Calgary Athlete Services Manager) will identify why visualization is a valuable tool, how it can be developed and walk you through a vision board activity. In the second session, you will share your vision board with your peers as a further confirmation to the world of what you want to achieve.
January 2021 - Budgeting
Strong budgeting skills can be the difference in making the national team, competing at the Olympics/Paralympics or winning that prized medal . Join us on Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. (SK time) for a workshop with former national team kayaker turned wealth manager, John Hastings, who will share some of the budgeting tricks he learned while competing, the impact it had on his athletic career and how you can be smarter with your money today.
High Performance Women in Coaching Mentorship Grant
Supported through gender equity funding from Sport Canada, the Canadian Sport Centre Saskatchewan and the Coaches Association of Saskatchewan (CAS) are partnering to help High Performance coaches level up so that they can coach athletes to the next level.

Through a community of practice, mentors and mentees will be able to connect in meaningful ways to share their success while also sharing solutions to issues they may be encountering. This program is about building a lasting community among our coaches; setting a foundation for sharing, support and the enhancement of skills in one's coaching toolkit.

Applications are now open and close Oct. 19.
The Advanced Coaching Diploma (ACD) is a coach driven, expert led, peer enriched and mentor supported coach education program.

The program is ideal for coaches working along the High Performance pathway who want access to cutting-edge, sport-science research and information, the opportunity to work alongside top coaches and mentors, and who desire to be a more effective coach. This competency-based adult learning experience is delivered both in person and online through the Canadian Olympic and Paralympic Sport Institute Network.

The deadline to apply to be a candidate for the next cycle is Dec. 31.

It's time to say "Thanks Coach"
From their first time trying a sport to competing on the international stage, coaches help athletes succeed at all levels. During National Coaches Week Sept. 19-27, take a moment to say "Thanks Coach" to the coaches who have helped you along the way.

And on that note, CSCS would like to say "Thanks Coach" to the over 27,000 coaches across Saskatchewan who dedicate their time, passion and hard work to help all of our province's athletes.
