Burkhart Center Friends, Family, and Colleagues,

The Burkhart Center will continue to navigate this time with vigilance and a proactive approach to combat COVD-19.

Following the CDC’s and Texas Tech University’s most recent recommendations, we are deeply saddened to announce that our 15th Annual Burkhart Walk for Autism Awareness set for April 26th is canceled.

Our first priority is the safety of our community and we remain intent on fulfilling our mission despite these trying times. We greatly appreciate your support during this time.

The Burkhart Center will still celebrate Autism Awareness Month and World Autism Awareness Day throughout the month of April with a digital approach. We encourage you to join us online by following our Facebook , Twitter , and Instagram.

For more information about the Texas Tech University response to the COVID-19 situation, and for the most recent details about that response, please visit the university FAQ at

You are also welcome to direct questions to us at  [email protected]

Sincerely,
