Hi Parkway People --
Like a lot of you, I've been keeping my eye on the forecasts for this weekend to try and make a decision about Sunday. Everyone's app seems to have different numbers and across the board, Sunday morning is the least clear as to what will happen and the diciest in terms of chances for ice on the roads and a fresh round of thunderstorms.
I am going to make a call — we will NOT have worship services this Sunday, January 25th at either 9am or 10.30am.
I'll say it on this side of Sunday — there is a chance that the roads don't get icy and that services could be totally possible. But I have to image that between the bad weather, the impending freeze, the thunderstorms, and the uncertainty of how severe it could get — people are going to be in hunker down mode and it makes sense to err on the side of caution when we just don't have the full picture.
The good news is — at least I'm told — that the church will not fall down if we all miss a Sunday. Make sure you are prepared for the next few days, but don't go buy for the apocalypse. It's only a day or two. Look out for and check in on your neighbors. Reach out to me if I can be helpful.
Take care and stay warm, and I will see y'all next week when we all thaw out.
Justin
