An Update About Upcoming Gatherings
March 11, 2020

Dear Ones,

While there are no confirmed cases in Maine at this time, we are erring on the side of caution and putting the needs of those most vulnerable to Coronavirus front and center.

With the crisis now officially classified as a pandemic by the World Health Organization, we are pausing all in-person UU Meeting House gatherings and programs. Effective immediately: Mindful Mondays, Odd Sundays, and Community Coffee Hour are cancelled.

This decision was not made lightly or without deep, loving discernment by our council and staff. As this challenging public health event continues to unfold, we will monitor the updates from the CDC and strategize ways to keep our growing congregation informed, connected, and spiritually cared for.

You are not alone in this uncertain time. Just as we have been doing since November, we’ll continue to embrace new ways of being in spiritual community. We are already at work forming Caring Committees and exploring ways to hold services and gatherings online.

It’s difficult to hit pause, once again, after an already wild and strange church year. But as your Interfaith Minister, I have abundant faith in this community’s ability to embody love by caring for one another.

We will be in touch soon with more updates. If you need to talk to somebody at any point during this anxious moment, we are here. Please contact us at  [email protected]  or message us via the UU Meeting House Facebook page, or call us at (207) 487-5861.

We're all in this together.

With love,
Rev. Jess Temple Tardy
Interfaith Minister
UU Meeting House of Pittsfield
