Hi everyone, I wanted to send a quick note to let you know that Living Alongside Recovery will not meet tonight.
I don't cancel our Tuesday night group often. I know there are families who count on this hour each week, and truthfully, I count on it too. I value the community we've created and the opportunity to come together each Tuesday to learn, talk honestly, and support one another.
Tonight is one of those rare times when I feel it is important for us to step away.
Molly and I will be attending Johnny's Ambassadors' #THCFreeAmerica Community Conversation here in Cincinnati with Laura Stack.
Laura founded Johnny's Ambassadors after losing her 19-year-old son, Johnny, following his experience with high-potency THC, psychosis, and ultimately suicide. She has since devoted her work to educating families and communities about the risks associated with today's high-potency THC products, particularly for young people.
This subject has become increasingly important in the work Molly and I do. We are working with more families whose loved ones are struggling with Cannabis Use Disorder, Cannabis-Induced Psychosis, and other serious mental health consequences associated with THC use. Too many families tell us they simply did not understand the risks until they were already living with the consequences.
So tonight, instead of facilitating our usual Tuesday group, we are going to show up in support of this work and help amplify a message that I believe more families need to hear.
If you are local to the Cincinnati area, I would love for you to join us tonight. The event is open to the community and runs from 6:00–7:30 PM.
Location:
Walden Ponds Community Nazarene
6590 Walden Ponds Circle
Fairfield Township, Oh 45011

To those of you who count on Tuesday nights, thank you for understanding. We will be back together next Tuesday at our regular time, 7:00 PM ET, and I look forward to seeing you then.
Thank you for allowing Molly and me this one evening to step outside of our usual group and support an issue that is affecting so many of the families we serve.
Warmly, Gianna
