Cancer Connection Community Members,
At a difficult time in my life, Cancer Connection was there for me, and in the end, being an active participant there changed my life. We hear this from our participants who never expected to find this gift along their cancer journey.
The gifts of our community have put us almost to the finish line of our campaign to keep this haven of comfort and strengthening services going through the pandemic. Watch our video above for an update. We're hoping that on New Year's Day we can report back to you having made our goal: $250,000 or more raised by 12/31/20!
If YOU have not made your gift to Secure Our Future Yet, know that you may be able to make a gift with an even greater impact for you and Cancer Connection. through the CARES Act.
Now through December 31:
Do you take the standard deduction on your income tax return? Good news!
If you take the standard deduction, you may be able to claim a charitable deduction of up to $300.
Do you itemize your deductions? There are incentives for you, too!
If you itemize your deductions, cash contributions to qualified charities can be deducted up to 100% of your adjusted gross income - an increase from 60%.
There is a waiver of penalties when retirement funds are used for Coronavirus purposes.
Giving from Your IRA?
If you are 70½ years old or older, you can give up to $100,000 from your IRA directly to Cancer Connection, without having to pay income taxes on your donation. Contact me by email or at 413-586-1642 x101 to learn more.
We encourage you to consult with your tax advisor or counsel for advice as you consider your philanthropic planning.
Remember, if you like Noel Paul Stookey's music, you can put "CD please" in the notes when you make a PayPal donation online. You may be one of the lucky donors who receive a CD in the mail from Noel. If you like, you can share a photo of you with your CD and a quote about why you gave. We'll have a drawing in January and share the results here.
Thank you for your support and warmest wishes for a safe holiday season.
Shalom, Peace, and Love,
The Reverend Beverly L. Herbert, M.Div., C.F.R.E.
