Volunteer Profile: Laurie De Jesus
For Laurie De Jesus and her mother Sandy Miller, giving back is a family affair. Like so many others, Laurie and Sandy have had their lives permanently altered by cancer. The disease that took her father when Laurie was 17, and later took Sandy's best friend, is not strong enough to dampen their altruistic spirit and energetic drive to help the participants of the Cancer Support Community... Welcome, Maria Maziejka
We are excited to introduce the newest member of the CSCVVSB team, Maria Maziejka. Maria will be serving as the morning receptionist beginning mid-June. Maria Maziejka comes to the Cancer Support Community from Northern Virginia where she had an eclectic career as a teacher, event coordinator and retail manager at the Inn at Little Washington. In addition, Maria volunteered her time and talents with the east coast non-profit, Life with Cancer. Very much a people person, she will greet you with a warm smile and sympathetic ear as front desk receptionist. She believes life is a gift to be celebrated each day and has found a niche being part of such a dynamic organization that offers hope and encouragement to everyone who walks through the doors.

Leaving a Legacy: Nancy McIsaac
Since helping us open our doors more than 20 years ago, Nancy McIsaac has always been a generous and enthusiastic friend to the CSCVVSB. We are grateful to Nancy for sharing her story with us.
Why did you choose to take advantage of the planned giving options offered by CSCVVSB?
I chose to remember CSCVVSB in my will because it has been my primary cancer charity over the past 20 years. I have participated in its growth and observed the healthy environment of the facility and spirit of hope felt by the participants. It is gratifying to me that through my support, participants have the opportunity for programs and activities to guide them through their recovery...
