Candid Search Tips

1. Location Location Location! Candid Search can only be accessed while using the wifi at a branch of the Waco-McLennan County Library - or the Cooper House. Reach out to Bethel to ensure the Cooper House is available.
2. Logging-on: When accessing Candid Search, log on through the Cooper Foundation's website here: Candid Search for Waco.
3. Your Organizational Profile: You must be logged out of your organizational profile to access Candid Search for Waco. (See below for the welcome screen you should see).
4. Filter Filter Filter! Find those funders by being selective in your search categories to find the funders that truly align with your mission. Don't forget to see if they are actively accepting RFPs or applications.
5. Dig into 990s: Spend some time perusing the 990s of funders - who've they've funded, what they've funded, where they've funded - and who is the main point of contact (along with other fun gems, like who is on their Board of Directors).
6. IPL/VPN/Cookies, Oh My! If you have advanced security settings on your device, you may need to find a work around - or clear your cookies. (Honestly - I don't really know what I just said but we will find a way to get you connected! - BE)
7. Technical Difficulties: Please reach out to Bethel if you have any issues connecting to the Candid platform while at a Waco library location! We want your Candid experience to feel enlightening - not cumbersome.
