Daniel Lowenstein, MD
is the Executive Vice Chancellor & Provost at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Professor and Vice Chairman in the Department of Neurology at UCSF, Director of the UCSF Epilepsy Center, and Director of Physician-Scientist and Education Training Programs for the UCSF School of Medicine.
's career has been filled with contributions too numerous to list, both within and outside the epilepsy community. He is a model, to us, to his patients, to his students and to so many others, of living his passion, demonstrating rigorous scientific methodology, sharing knowledge, as well as his kindness and mentoring. Our community is honored to present Dr. Lowenstein with this award--he lives and teaches the kind of passion, resilience, and persistent curiosity needed to solve many unanswered questions about epilepsy.
Among Dr. Lowenstein's many honors, he was selected to give the "The Last Lecture" at UCSF in 2013.
Please join us as we honor Dr. Lowenstein at our
Candlelight Gala on Saturday, November 21, 2015.
