The Art Of Giving Back:
Call for Volunteers

We would like to honor William Collier our 2017 "John Hellgren Award" winner! Annually the Cherry Creek Arts Festival awards a volunteer that exhibits the exceptional character, spirit and selfless volunteerism of the award's namesake, Mr. John Hellgren.

Every year more than 1,000 dedicated, engaged, community-minded and fun volunteers contribute to make the Cherry Creek Arts Festival possible. Volunteering at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival gives participants an exclusive, behind-the-scenes appreciation of the artists and art that make the Festival so enticing and fun.

Volunteers are the backbone of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. The Cherry Creek Arts Festival volunteer program, presented by Xfinity, attracts volunteers who are dedicated to the arts, the community and look forward to having a great 4th of July weekend while working and enjoying the Festival.

C L I F T O N ... H E N R I
Photography - Chicago, IL
Clifton Henri , a previous award winner and juror will be returning to the Cherry Creek Arts Festival for the 6th year! See more of his photography at booth #167 July 6, 7 & 8! In his own words...

"Essentially, I am a storyteller… and the job of any great storyteller is to communicate in a way that both will engage with the audience and ignite their imagination. My photography, which I affectionately describe as Film Stills of an ever evolving narrative, is themed in the spirit of nostalgia where personal experiences, insights and cultural stances are reflected. This work is meant to empower and inspire, serving as the creative pulse behind the work. Deeply influenced by imagery from the Civil Rights Movement and the Harlem Renaissance, the works of great visual storytellers, such as Gordon Parks, Kerry James Marshall and Norman Rockwell, have truly helped me discover and define my style. Their ability to visually and poetically comment on social, cultural and world issues is truly an inspiration and fuels my commitment to produce work that does the same."

Henri challenges the imagination and experiments with surrealism, typography and textures to communicate his ideas and thoughts. Photoshop is not used to manipulate the images at all. They're all shot using traditional techniques. Henri attended Clarke College in Dubuque, IA where he received his BA in Communication and the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), in Savanah, GA where he received his MFA in Graphic Design.
