Rotating Program Update
Capacity Building Assistance (CBA)
Aunsha Hall-Everett, MA, CBA Manager

CAPTC’s CBA program supports health departments in the western geographic region. We strengthen the HIV prevention workforce by delivering high-quality, customized technical assistance. We are thrilled to announce two upcoming events that will bolster health departments’ efforts to end the HIV epidemic.

The third Medical Mistrust Symposium (January 2022, dates TBA) will be a two-day virtual discussion on how deep-rooted beliefs and negative experiences impact current efforts towards ending the HIV epidemic as well as possible constructive responses to medical mistrust and distrust. Join interactive explorations of medical mistrust as it relates to the LBGTQ+ community as a whole as well as the transgender community specifically; Black, Native, Asian, and LatinX communities; and Tribal communities.

The Cluster Detection and Response (CDR) Learning Collaborative (February 2022, dates TBA) will discuss how CDR uses routinely reported data to identify communities where HIV may be spreading rapidly and quickly direct prevention and care services where they are needed. This series is an opportunity for rich discussion and collaborative learning for all members of the HIV workforce to identify strategies for robust HIV cluster outbreak response plans.
