Citizen of the Week
Mackenzie Sparks '31

Congratulations to Mackenzie Sparks for being selected as the Citizen of the Week! As part of The Little Mermaid play rehearsals, she was a great help back stage, making sure all students were where they were supposed to be for each scene. She also helped with props on stage during scene changes. Mackenzie is a huge help during wellness and PE classes, always willing to set up an activity and clean up at the end of the class.
HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK
Earth Day Celebrated By Students

In observance of Earth Day today, lower school students headed outdoors to refresh the garden beds by the lower school playground. They cleaned up the beds, learned about various plants, and planted different herbs. They also learned how a pollinator garden works. Special thanks to Beacon Gardens who generously donated plants, herbs, and soil for the Earth Day celebration.
Earlier this week, middle and upper school biology classes watched the film, “Political Climate”. Featuring CCA teacher, Keith Lewison, former CCA faculty, Larry Brown, and alums, Sarah Dumaresq and Eli Sorenti-Burns, the documentary film discussed the importance of civic engagement relevant to environmental issues. Students then decorated windows in the science building in preparation for Earth Day.
Students Celebrate National Poetry Month
April is National Poetry Month, and Cape Cod Academy students have been celebrating poets and poems all month long through a variety of activities.

Fourth Graders Present:
The Events Leading Up to the “Shot Heard ‘Round the World”

Last Friday, our fourth-grade students presented, The Events Leading Up to The Shot Heard 'Round the World. Written and performed by the fourth grade, this exciting and informative presentation retold the events leading up to the American Revolution. Their play is a culmination of this term’s reading and writing curriculum that included nonfiction, historical fiction, opinion writing, information writing, and realistic fiction writing. They worked cooperatively to create a script, costumes, and scenery to depict these important events in our history. They were pleased to perform their play for families and fellow classmates.
