Valentine Treats for Sale

The Student Council is coordinating with CCA's Parent Association to hold a candy sale next week to celebrate Valentine's Day. Anyone at CCA can buy and send candy to a friend, fellow classmate, or teacher.

Student Council representatives will be selling mini candy bags for $1 and handmade chocolate lollipops from a local chocolatier for $2. You can buy and send a bag or lollipop to anyone in the school no matter the grade.

To help our lower school students participate, student council representatives will visit their classrooms on Monday, February 8 and Tuesday, February 9 to collect orders. Middle and upper school students can order treats from their class representatives. Students in middle and upper school will be able to purchase candy until February 11.

Wear red to school next Friday, February 12 in celebration of Valentine's Day.

Cape Cod Academy to Host Merit Scholarship Exams for Non-CCA Students

Cape Cod Academy will host Merit Scholarship Exams and an Information Session on Saturday, February 6 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. on our campus. The Merit Scholarship Exams, one for middle schoolers and one for upper schoolers, are open to all prospective students entering grades 6 - 12. Please share this information with friends who may be interested.
Cape Cod Healthcare Blood Drive is Next Week
Friends and families of CCA are invited to support the Community Service Organization (CSO) project of Abbie Catalano, Jordan Brown, and Ally Moring. As members of the CSO Club, Abbie, Jordan, and Ally have organized a Cape Cod Healthcare Blood Drive to be held in the Upper School Gym on Wednesday, February 10 from 8:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Eligibility to give blood: Must be at least 16 years old and must weigh at least 110 pounds. Students aged 16 & 17 need a permission slip signed by a parent. Click here for the permission slip.
Middle & Upper School Music is Alive at CCA

Middle School Strings are back! Lary Chaplan will lead the Middle School String Ensemble starting next week. The group will meet Tuesdays and is open to any middle schooler. In addition, Roger Gamache has been busy teaching middle school music classes and leading the Middle School Jazz and Rock Ensemble and the Upper School Rock Ensemble, which are open to all students, grades 6-12. For more information or if you would like your child to join, please contact Lary (, Roger (, or Nancy Boyle ( 

Calling All Actors!
Jan Rapp will be directing an after-school MS/US drama production. Students will use costumes and props and performers will design and paint background sets. The four-week program will culminate in a live/taped Zoom production of Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451.This is open to any student in grades 6-12. For more information or if you would like your child to join, please contact Jan Rapp ( or Nancy Boyle ( 
Science Club Students Learn About Local Water Contamination

Science Club students attended a lecture this week about sources of harmful PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) contamination in groundwater on Cape Cod. Representatives from STEEP, URI, and Silent Spring Institute have partnered on the research they presented. Students were able to learn about sources and quantities of the contaminants in the water supplies of Cape Cod as well as local remediation efforts.
Parents of eighth-graders are invited to join Cape Cod Academy faculty and a few upper school students for a discussion about CCA’s upper school. Students from the upper school will share insights and answer questions. Faculty will discuss classes, culture, and the powerful components that make CCA the best educational option for the next phase of studies. College counselors will explain their individualized approach for guiding CCA students and parents through the competitive college application process.
Parents of fifth-graders are invited to join Cape Cod Academy faculty for an introduction to CCA’s middle school. Faculty will discuss classes, culture, and answer parents' questions. They will also discuss some of the significant differences between lower school and middle school.
Registration is Open for March Vacation Camp
Cape Cod Academy is pleased to announce that March Vacation Camp will be offered during the first week of spring break: March 8-12. The camp will run Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and include a variety of exciting and unique activities for students in grades K-5. Our experienced CCA teachers will be running the camp.
Second-Graders Present Their "Exhibits" to Classmates

To culminate their nonfiction unit of study, CCA second-graders transformed their classroom into a museum. Each student made an “exhibit” to teach their fellow classmates about a particular topic.
