FACULTY SPOTLIGHT
Russ Gasdia is Cape Cod Academy’s new English fellow and sailing coach. Prior to teaching at CCA, he taught courses on religious and economic history at Yale University, where he was completing his doctoral studies. Russ has also taught classes on church history at Union Theological Seminary in New York City, as well as worked as a freelance cartographer for a wide variety of authors and publications. Over the summer, he designed and produced the video game “Hajj Trail,” which aims to bring the early modern Ottoman Empire alive for students.

Russ is particularly excited to be leading the seminar “Video Games and Interactive Fiction” this semester. In this seminar, students will be creating their own video games in order to hone their creative writing skills and learn some basics of coding. He also looks forward to helping the CCA sailing team become the premier high school sailing team on Cape Cod.
