National Grid Small Business Relief energy grants 2023

National Grid awards Small Business Energy Relief Grants through

Cape Cod Chamber

National Grid recently announced it will donate $800,000 to eight Chambers of Commerce in Massachusetts to support local small businesses. Among the Chambers administering the grants is the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce.

The Cape Cod Chamber will receive $100,000, which will then distribute in grants of $1,000 to 100 small businesses with fewer than 150 employees.

To receive a $1,000 grant, your business must:

  • be based in Massachusetts
  • have 150 or fewer employees
  • be a National Grid Electric and/or Gas customer

This publication— targeting motor coach tours for all groups including seniors, students, reunions, and sports planners—is distributed at motor coach shows, including ABA, golf shows, sales missions, and at every event the Chamber

The Big E Volunteer Opportunities

The Big E returns this year from September 15-October 1 in Springfield! Once again, we will have an opportunity to highlight the Cape Cod region on one of the fair days it the Massachusetts booth. Our “Cape Cod” day will be Friday, September 29th, and we are seeking two member volunteers for the 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm shift. This is great chance to help promote the destination AND to also promote your business, getting face time with the thousands of people who attend. We will be booking volunteers on a first-come, first-served basis. Love Live Local’s Love Local Fest celebrates 11th season

Hyannis –Love Live Local kicks off their 11th season of their tri-annual Love Local Fests at Aselton Park on July 30; gathering community members to celebrate all that makes Cape Cod so unique: local makers, local musicians, locally crafted food and beverages, and a gorgeous waterfront view. The 2023 Love Local Fests take place on the last Sundays in July and September from 11am-5pm on Aselton Park overlooking the Hyannis Harbor, and the first Saturday in December on the Hyannis Village Green. This year they are generously sponsored by Cape Cod 5, Commonwealth Wind- Avangrid, Devil’s Purse Brewing Company and True North Events Rentals. The events feature over 75 local artists, artisans, and brands who pop-up for the day, as well as food trucks and a craft beverage garden featuring libations from Devil’s Purse Brewing Company and Truro Vineyards. 

Harbor Hawks Day at FUNBOX: July 27

What happens when Cape Cod Baseball League players trade in the ballpark for the bounce park? Find out on July 27th! The world’s biggest Bounce Park and the world’s best collegiate baseball players will come together for a day of fun and games in Hyannis. FUNBOX, the 35,000 square-foot inflatable playground located behind Cape Cod Mall, will welcome the Harbor Hawks for an afternoon of community fun on July 27 from 12-2 PM.  

Seaside Le Mans Announces First-ever Chance To Win A Seat In Cape Cod’s High Octane Charitable Race

The Race for the Cape Cod Community, is announcing the first chance in the race’s 22-year history for people to win a $2,000 seat in the legendary charitable race for just $50. The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod Charitable Foundation Trust  has awarded $43,750 in grants to local nonprofit organizations dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in the communities it serves.

During the recent quarterly meeting of the Board of Trustees, the following grants were awarded:

In addition, The Coop Foundation issued the latest installments of multi-year grant disbursements to Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation’s capital campaign for a new patient tower ($10,000); Cape Cod Times Needy Fund to provide housing stability for vulnerable residents ($7,500); and Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation’s capital campaign for the new Frank and Maureen Wilkens Science and Engineering Center ($5,000). Mid-Cape Home Centers Raises Over 48k for Tommy’s Place 

Annually, the Mid-Cape team comes together to vote for a cause they would like to support in the E.J. Jaxtimer Charter Cup. This year, that cause was childhood cancer through Tommy's Place, a dream vacation home for kids fighting cancer and their families. Mid-Cape Home Centers kicked off their fundraising by selling tickets for private tours of the brand-new Tommy’s Place  in Centerville. In addition, Mid-Cape partnered with New England Home and Hutker Architects to host an Issue Launch Party with a wonderfully successful Fund-a-Need component. They also hosted their annual virtual auction, raffles, and more on behalf of Tommy’s Place to say that they raised $48,361! Learn more >

New Welcome Center

Heritage Museums & Gardens, a beloved cultural institution known for its dedication to preserving and showcasing history and horticulture, is thrilled to announce its capital campaign for the construction of a new Welcome Center. This exciting project aims to enhance the visitor experience, improve accessibility, model and interpret environmental sustainability and provide expanded facilities to meet the growing needs of visitors and the community.

The new Welcome Center will serve as the gateway to Heritage Museums & Gardens, providing a warm and inviting experience where visitors can begin their exploration of the museum's diverse offerings.
