Cape Coral's 2025 Annual Financial Reports Available

Cape Coral’s Financial Services Department published the City’s FY 2025 Popular Annual Financial Report, Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, and the Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) Financial Statements.

The Popular Annual Financial Report is a distilled, 15-page version of the City’s 219-page Annual Comprehensive Financial Report. The shortened report was created to enhance transparency and the public’s access to the City’s official financial reporting.

The CRA Financial Statements cover financial activity from the special taxing district in the community redevelopment area of South Cape Coral.

The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report provides audited financial statements, notes to those statements, unaudited statistical information, and management discussion and analysis.

The Financial Services Department’s mission is to provide quality customer service by providing complete and accurate financial management support efficiently and on time.

Dear Cape Coral Residents,

As we move through the summer and prepare for a new school year, I want to thank you for your continued engagement and support for the many initiatives shaping Cape Coral’s future. Our City is growing, and together we are making important decisions that will define Cape Coral for generations.

City Council has been actively engaged in developing the Fiscal Year 2027 budget through multiple public workshops and a town hall‑style meeting. The budget is one of the most important responsibilities of Council because it sets the City’s priorities and allocates resources to meet the needs of our residents. Through the budgeting process, we determine how to fund public safety, infrastructure and transportation, parks and recreation, and other essential services that support our quality of life.

In late July, the City Manager released his proposed budget that maintains essential services and continues strategic investment in Cape Coral’s infrastructure. Council directed the City Manager to work toward a Fiscal Year 2027 budget maintaining the current millage rate of 5.1471, maintaining the Fire Service Assessment at 81 percent cost recovery and the Public Service Tax at 7 percent.

Cape Coral Secures $2.65M in State Funding for Key Infrastructure, Public Safety Projects

The City of Cape Coral has received confirmation that two of its legislative appropriation requests have successfully advanced through the state’s veto process, securing funding for critical infrastructure and public safety improvements.

The City will receive $2.5 million to support improvements to NE 24th Avenue, a key corridor that also serves as an evacuation route, and $150,000 to purchase a Police Department emergency response vehicle. The approved funding reflects partial awards for both the NE 24th Avenue project and the emergency response vehicle.

However, the City’s $10 million funding request for the Utilities Expansion Project (UEP) was not approved.

The City’s original legislative funding requests included:

$10 million for the Utilities Expansion Project (UEP)
$5 million for NE 24th Avenue improvements and evacuation route enhancements
$300,000 for a Police Department emergency response vehicle

City officials will continue to advocate for future funding opportunities to support the UEP and other infrastructure priorities.

Cape Coral Fleet Services Secures Spot in 2026 Leading Fleets

The City of Cape Coral’s Fleet Services Division has been named one of the Top 20 Leading Fleets in North America for 2026 by Government Fleet magazine.

The Leading Fleets program, co-produced with the American Public Works Association and sponsored by Ford Pro, recognizes high-performing public fleet operations for excellence in leadership, efficiency, innovation, and long-term planning.

Cape Coral Fleet Services, which manages more than 1,000 assets, is classified as a large fleet and ranked among top agencies nationwide. The division supports critical City operations by maintaining vehicles and equipment across multiple departments, including public works, public safety, and utilities.

Cape Coral's Fleet Services aims to provide vehicle and equipment acquisition, preventive maintenance, repair, and fueling services to City departments, ensuring safe, reliable, cost-effective equipment and vehicles to accomplish their operational goals.

Financial Services Receives Third-Consecutive Triple Crown Award

The City of Cape Coral’s Financial Services Department earned the prestigious Triple Crown Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). This is the third year in a row that Cape Coral has received this distinction.

Cape Coral Receives Excellence Award for WaterWays Science Festival

The City of Cape Coral has been selected as a winner of the Florida Stormwater Association Excellence Award for its WaterWays Science Festival.

This award honors the City's education efforts to encourage behavior that reduces stormwater pollution sources.

Cape Coral Thanks Community for Making Historic Raise the Flag Celebration Possible

The City of Cape Coral celebrated America’s 250th anniversary with a historic day of patriotism and community pride. Highlights included the inaugural Raise the Flag Ceremony, where the American flag was raised for the first time atop Florida’s tallest free-standing flagpole, followed by the City’s Red, White & BOOM! celebration featuring live entertainment, family activities, and a spectacular fireworks display. The City thanks its residents, veterans, donors, partners, and staff for making this milestone celebration possible.
