"Making Disciples of Jesus
for the Transformation of the World"
From the Pastor:

Dear Cape Coral First Family,

Can you believe it's Thanksgiving time?  Where has 2017 gone!  Kayla and I have been a part of Cape Coral First now for 9 months.  That's where I must begin as I reflect on my Thanksgiving list.  I am thankful that the Lord has brought us to Cape Coral First United Methodist Church and has allowed me to be your pastor.  What a privilege to lead us each week into the presence of the Lord.  What a blessing it is to be allowed to open God's Word each Sunday and hear and share what God has for each of us.  I am thankful to be your pastor.
Last Sunday was different. It was our first Sunday with two special teams being used by God.  First, our new Yellow Team was evident in their yellow tee-shirts.  Was it not the coolest thing to see?  I believe as people, old and new, walked on campus Sunday our Yellow Team raised the level of expectancy in each person coming to church.  I believe there was an extra sense of joy in the house as we came in the sanctuary having just received an extra joy filled greeting.  Thank you to all that have committed to the Yellow Team and if you are wanting to be a part of this team please contact Annie Johnson at 239-940-2003 or email her at [email protected] and she will add your name to the list and we will get you a tee-shirt.
The second thing that made Sunday different was it was the first Sunday of "300 Secret Place". We have over 150 people that have committed to pray every Saturday for 5 minutes for the Sunday services and ask God to move during the services to bring life and hope to those gathered and to bring life and hope to the community as we go into the world after church.  I truly felt God answered our prayers.  It was a great Sunday!
This week, I will be bringing a Thanksgiving message and we will sing songs of thankfulness.  And "Yellow Team" will be active and "300 Secret Place" will be petitioning God to prepare our hearts and fill us with Thanksgiving.
Remember God inhabits our praise so let's give thanks and praise to the Lord our God.  He has been so good to us this year.

See you in Church,
Pastor Chuck

Members of the Friends Sunday School Class will once again this year be hosting their annual Thanksgiving Dinner for anyone who might not have a family to celebrate with during this special holiday,
or perhaps are not financially able to provide a meal
for their family. You do not have to be a church
member to attend.
The meal will be served on

Thanksgiving Day
November 23,
at 1:00 PM

If you would like to help in the preparation of the meal on Wednesday, or help serve on Thursday, please contact Joe Beach at  [email protected] to volunteer.

Christmas is such a special time of year -
a time of celebration, family, and the birth of our Lord.

With this in mind you are invited to join us as we prepare the house of our Lord to celebrate His birth.

We will be decorating the church on
Monday, November 27,
beginning at 10:00 AM.
There are jobs for every skill level so everyone can help.
If you are interested in helping or need more information you can contact Brad Dobson at [email protected].
Christmas Concert

The entire church family is invited to join the youth as they attend the concert "Decade The Halls" at First Baptist Church on
Saturday, December 16,
at 6:00 PM.

This will be a holiday treat that brings a whole new meaning to the timelessness of Christmas, as it will feature both traditional Christmas favorites and original Christmas songs, each set stylistically in a different decade honoring decades like the '20s, '30s and '40s, up to the present.
